Catered Crop - America’s Dairyland

After I created my first card for the Catered Crop recipe swap, “Map It”, I had another idea for a card and I just had to make it.

I stumbled across a link that allows you to print maps of each state.  After playing around with the setting on my printer, I printed a map of Wisconsin, my home state, at my printer’s 4x6 setting on white card stock.

I added a heart punched out of scrap paper and added it to the part of where I live.   Cute and easy – my favorite kind of card.

Don’t forget to stop by the Catered Crop to link up your “Map It”creation.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!

    Great Impressions–Missing U

Hello!  Happy Monday!   This was a big weekend for our family.  My daughter left for a week at sleep-away camp for the first time.  In my head, I know she will have fun and make new friends, in my heart, I’m nervous for her.    I can’t wait until she comes home on Saturday and I get to hear all about her adventures.

I made this card to put in the care package that I am sending her.   I know she liked the bunnies from this stamp.  I thought I would try to use the stamp in a different way.  Does this bunny look lonely when he is sitting all alone?

We finally had some warm weather here in Wisconsin.  I saw several people, including my DH, riding their bikes this past weekend.  It motivated me to ink up this stamp, Framed Garden Bicycle (F390), from Great Impressions Stamps.

    Great Impressions Stamps–Bunny Backs

Hello!  Happy Monday!  Today is my day to post on the Great Impressions Stamps blog.   For my project, I decided to make something for spring.   I’m not sure if it is wishful thinking or not, but I hope that it is on it’s way.  Let’s all hope that Punxsutawney Phil is accurate in his forecast this year.

Anyhow, these sweet little bunnies made me think of spring and warmer weather.  Aren’t they cute?

I also masked off part of the image and stamped one of the bunnies on the inside of my card along with a sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

    Love ya!

Wow! It has been a busy week so far. I almost forgot to post my project!

On Sunday night, one of my dogs tangled with a skunk. Not only did she get sprayed but she was bit 3 times. (Thank goodness all the drama was after “True Blood” finished.) We looked on-line and saw that the “old wives tales” solutions such as tomato juice are no longer recommended. We mixed up a solution of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap, put it on her and had to hold her still for 5-10 minutes. (You can find more on this HERE. This solution is what was recommended by our vet too.) I’m happy to say that the solution seemed to work pretty well although my house was a little smelly the next day. We also made a trip to the vet to get a rabies booster and for them to check out her bites. She seems to be doing fine and since she was up-to-date on her vaccines, we really don’t need to worry too much about the bites.

My daughter’s softball team also won their division. Yeah Cougars!

Added to that, it is fiscal year end at the company I work at. Enough said about that. I don’t want to bore you all but suffice to say I feel like I am running around like a mad woman.

With all this going on, I felt like I could use a hug so when I saw Meljen’s Designs Teeny Mouse Hugs in my files, I knew I had to use it. I think this card is going in my box for OWH.

Before I forget, Melissa is releasing some new, yummy images today. Check these out! They will be available today in the Whimsy Stamps store.

The new challenge on the Meljen’s Designs blog is a sketch challenge. The sketch was created by our Meljen’s teamie, Dianna. Stop by the Meljen’s Designs blog to find out all the challenge details.

    Meljen’s Designs–Just Hangin’ Around

It’s Thursday so that means it is time for a new release and a new challenge at the Meljen’s Designs blog. Our challenge this week is to create a business sized (4x9.5) card. I chose not to participate in the challenge this week, so stop by the Meljen’s Designs blog to see the inspiration pieces from some of the other DT members.

Although I didn’t make a business sized card, I couldn’t resist using this new image. I typically don’t care much for possums, but this little guy is cute. I stayed with a standard sized card so that I could slip into my box of cards bound for OWH. (66 cards are on the way – mailed today!)

Here is a look at all the new images this week. They are all available in the Whimsy Stamps store starting today.

I though I would also share a picture of a real possum that loves to stop by to eat my bird seed. This picture was taken in January when we had snow on the ground. (Opposed to April when we still had snow on the ground…) I like Melissa’s “Little Possum” much better than the real deal. What do you think?

Have a great day! Thank you for stopping by.

Sentimental Sundays - Easter or Spring

Rain, rain go away! I know, April showers bring May flowers but that doesn’t mean I have to like it! We had a little taste of summer last weekend but this week is cold and rainy. Brrrr…. Since the new Sentimental Sundays challenge is “Easter or Spring” I let our rainy, spring weather inspire me to make this card. I broke out some of the goodies I got during the scrapbook store bus tour I went on last weekend with a friend. We had a great time. I found 3 new. locally owned stores that had a wonderful variety of products. There were make & takes and special sales at each stop. And chocolate. What else could a girls want while shopping?

The designer paper and die for the flower used on this card were new. I added Glossy Accents to the puddle and rain drops to give them a bit of shine. I hope you will join the Sentimental Sundays team and enter our “Easter or Spring” challenge this week sponsored by Raindrop Echo Designs. Don’t forget to include a sentiment! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

    • Stamps - Rainy Day Friend from Phindy's Place, Ticket Sentiments from Raindrop Echo Designs on Whimsy Stamps, Flowers with Love from Anabelle Stamps

    Cute & Cuddly (Part 2)

Our Sentimental Sundays challenge this week is "Cute & Cuddly". I made 2 cards for the challenge this week. You saw the first one on Sunday and this is the 2nd one I made using up scraps and pieces on I had on my desk. ' ll
Using a pre-colored digi from Doodle Pantry made throwing this card together a snap. The best part is that I have another card for my OWH box. My box is almost full and will soon be mailed!

I also have some fun stuff coming up on my blog. On April 1st, there will be 2 blog hops. The first is to celebrate Meljen's Designs 1st birthday and the second is to show off the new digital releases at Whimsy Stamps. Make sure you stop to check out the hops. Like all hops, there will be prizes sprinkled along the way.

I will have a fun announcement in April for a GRAND OPENING on April 15th of something super cool. Stay tuned for this. I am dying to let the cat out of the bag but I have to wait. I can't wait to tell you all.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you will come back for some of the fun events coming up.

Hang in There! with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to created a card to help support awareness. I think this might be the most pink card I have ever created.

**Edit: I just found out about the card drive for Elise of Paper Love Affair who has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Cheryl from My Cardmaking Haven has collected some prizes for one lucky person. For more info on this card drive and Elise's story, please see My Cardmaking Heaven. I am going to sent this card to Elise to let her know she has lots of blogging friends that support & pray for her.**

As you probably know, I just love Lindsay's "On the Line" digital stamp set. It is so versatile! I have used this set to make baby cards, anniversary cards, friendship cards, birthday cards, and now, an awareness card. Here is a closer look at the set.

And, no trick, I have a treat for you! Lindsay is having a sale on everything in her mygrafico shop. You can get this set (19 images!) for $4.20. All her digi stamps sets and svg files are included in the sale. Go get yourself a little treat.

Please stop by the rest of the DT to see what they created. Check out Lindsay's blog to download her weekly freebie.

Hello World Here's A Song That We're Singing....

    Come On Get Happy....

This week our theme for Lindsay's Stamp Stuff is "Inspired by Song". I am almost ashamed to admit this song has been stuck in my head. (Some one please help me get it out!) For those of us mature enough to remember, this was the theme song of the Partridge Family. Boy, wasn't David Cassidy dreamy??? Okay, enough of this dating myself and on to my project. (Update: I just got an email that this card will be featured on SNR Card Universe. Woohoo!)

I made this card both inspired by the song and a bit by the old TV show. These cute little birds are from the Love Grows Here digital stamp set. I printed the bird in 2 sizes, colored, and cut them out. I clipped the valentine from its beak since I didn't need it for this card. I love this set! Although you probably think of it as a "Valentine's Day" set, I will use it all year. (See my post from last week here for another project using it.) The cupcake can be used for birthdays, the cherries for summer, the love birds for weddings or anniversaries just to name a few. Here is a close up of the set.

When I was at my Jazzercise class on Wednesday, sweating through an abdominal (not abominable, though it seemed that way at the time) routine set to Rihanna's "Umbrella", I thought I could do a card with one of the new sets for this song! It also works for for Faith Hills' "Red Umbrella". Either way, here is my umbrella card using the new Puddle Fun digital stamp set.

And here is a look at the complete set.

I have to admit I am disappointed I ran out of time this week to make some of the other projects floating around in my head for this theme. How about "Black Coffee" (Billie Holiday) or "Coffee Girl" (Tragically Hip) using Coffee Talk, "Born in the USA" (Bruce Springsteen) using the Patriotic collection, anything by the Scissor Sisters using the scissors from Sew Pretty, "Birdhouse in your Soul" (They Might Be Giants) using Birds & Branches... The possibilities are endless... As a music junkie,I could go on and on. But, just for you, I won't.

I hope this inspires you to create a project using that song you have in your head. Check out what the rest of the DT created when they were inspired by song.

    Hey Chick!

I usually post on Thursday but I just loved this card so much I had to share it today. The chick is from Cute Easter from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. I made this as a thank you card for a great friend. How adorable and springy is this chick? (Is "springy" a word? You know what I mean.)

I LOVE this stripped paper. The best part is that I found it at HL in a clearance bin for $0.25. It was mixed into some Christmas stuff and I thought it would be a great break from the traditional Christmas colors. I never got around to using it at Christmas but I thought it just screamed to be paired up with this chick. Don't you think it works?

It might be hard to see in the photo but I created a polka dot background on the yellow panel using my white Fun Flock and 2-way glue. I wanted to add a little extra texture (and fuzziness) to the card. I hope this also qualifies for the EONAC challenge to get messy. I certainly made a big enough mess when doing it.

I ordered Photoshop for Dummies from amazon.com to help the Easter bunny out (from my Monday post). I can't wait to get my hands on that book. Thank you to all who sent me links to tutorials or offered up your assistance. It has been an extra crazy week here but I am sure I will be contacting you with my questions soon. I love the stamping/blogging community. Every one is so helpful!

Thank you for stopping by to look at my card and read my babble. I hope you have a fantastic day.
