Easter Bunny

Hello!  I have a couple of Easter cards to share with you today.  They both used the same digital stamp and designs but different papers.

The sentiment was created in Word using a free font, printed on the vellum and heat embossed.   I also embossed polka dots on the vellum to give it a little something interesting.

I did not add too many embellishments as I wanted these to be easily mailed.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Pumpkin Spice Shop–April Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the April Pumpkin Spice blog hop!   You should have hopped here from Heather’s blog.  If not, you might want to start at the beginning of the hop at June’s blog so you don’t miss out on any crafty goodness.

The challenge at the Pumpkin Spice blog this week is EGGS!  Have fun, be creative, and incorporate eggs into your crafting project.

For my project, I altered a plastic container to hold chocolate Easter eggs.

2013-04-06 PSS Egg blog hop WM

I used some pretty papers from the Fancy Pants Time for Spring 6x6 paper pad along with some recycled items.  (The plastic container, a chipboard coaster, and the corrugated papers are all recycled)    The little banner was cut out of the DP.    If you love these papers, you can get them from the Pumpkin Spice Shop for only $4.20.

2013-03-19 WSS Lamb WM

Whimsy & Stars Studio - Spring Hat Bunny

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!  Today I have a card to share with you made using Spring Hat Bunny (digital stamp) from Whimsy & Stars Studio

2013-02-18 WSS Spring Hat Bunny WM

I tried a new (for me) technique although it is hard to see it in the photo.  I wet a scrap of burlap with Copic colorless blender and pressed it to the bunny’s hat to add some texture.    At this time, I didn’t put a sentiment on the card because I usually only need a couple of Easter cards.  I left it blank so I can use this for Easter or another occasion.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

Supplies:

  • Stamps:  Spring Hat Bunny (digital stamp) from Whimsy & Stars Studio
  • Papers:  Neenah Classic Crest solar white CS, Papertrey kraft CS, Bazzill Basics blue CS, October Afternoon Sidewalks paper pad
  • Tools:  Sewing machine, Stampin’Up edge punch, Big Shot, Papertrey Layerz Mat Stack #1, Copic markers

Great Impressions Stamps–Bunny Backs

Hello!  Happy Monday!  Today is my day to post on the Great Impressions Stamps blog.   For my project, I decided to make something for spring.   I’m not sure if it is wishful thinking or not, but I hope that it is on it’s way.  Let’s all hope that Punxsutawney Phil is accurate in his forecast this year.

Anyhow, these sweet little bunnies made me think of spring and warmer weather.  Aren’t they cute?

2013-02-18 GI Bunny Backs WM

I also masked off part of the image and stamped one of the bunnies on the inside of my card along with a sentiment from Great Impressions Stamps.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! This is the last Easter project that I have to share with you this year. It uses part of the Dancing Egg & Chick image from Whimsy & Stars Studio. You can see the entire image further down in my post.

2012-04-10 WSS Chick tag WM

This tag started when I was sadly looking at all the little scraps that were the only remains of my favorite papers from the October Afternoon Sidewalk pad. I decided to stitch them together to make a tag. I actually stitched the scraps of DP to a scrap piece of white CS, which I glued to my tag, so that the back would remain nice.

Here is a look at the whole Dancing Egg & Chickie image.

Just a quick heads up - next week Mabelle will be giving away a free digital image on the Whimsy & Stars Studio Facebook page. Stop by and “like” her page now so that you don’t miss out!

You won’t see me around much this coming week. My daughter is on spring break and I am going to take the week off blogging, try to stay off the computer, and enjoy my time with my family. I’ll be back posting as usual the week of April 16th.

Thank you for stopping by!

Vintage Easter

I can’t believe Easter is already coming up. This year is already flying past. And I have so many Easter images to still play with!

This week I wanted to color this sweet image from Whimsy & Stars Studio. Isn’t she adorable?

2012-04-03 WSS Bunny card WM

I don’t remember if I mentioned it before, but when spraying items with glimmer mist I always put some flattened coffee filters in the box under them to catch the overspray. Letting the overspray just coat the box seems like such a waste. The coffee filters always looks so pretty and shimmery and I have big ideas on what I can do with them. (Of course up until now it was all ideas.) So for this card, I broke out my stash of shimmery coffee filters and finally used them. I die cut flowers out of my filters and then sprayed them with my Copic Airbrush system to make them the correct color. Although the photo doesn’t pick it up, IRL the flowers have a beautiful shimmer. See, I knew those coffee filters would come in handy some day. (I also sprayed the lace a bit to make it coordinate with the designer papers a little better.)

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Springtime Basket Bunny (digital stamps) from Whimsy & Stars Studio
  • Inks: Ranger Distress Ink Antique Linen
  • Papers: Neenah Crest solar white CS, Papertrey kraft CS, Bazzill Basics Blossom CS, Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two DP pad
  • Tools: Sewing Machine, Stampin’ Up edge punch, Big Shot, Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Florals die, Papertrey Tiny Tags die, Copic Airbrush system, Copic Markers
  • Embellishments: Flower (made from coffee filters), Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Hug Snug Cream seam binding, Papertrey button twine, Sakura white gel pen, misc. button & lace

Springtime Chickie

For my Whimsy & Stars Studio DT post this week, I played around with the adorable Springtime Toadstool image again.   I love this little chick.   This time I added a little Fun Flock to make him fuzzy.

2011-03-29 WSS Chick 2nd editWM

To create the clouds in the background, I tried something new.  I used the cloud template created by Bev Rochester and this tutorial from Jan Hunnicutt.  Check out the blogs of both of these talented ladies.  I like the way these clouds look and it was much easier than some of the other techniques I have tried.

Be sure to stop by the Whimsy & Stars Studio store to check out all of the adorable spring and Easter images.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

For my Peeps

Well, I just sat down to type up my blog post and I really can’t come up with anything to say.  I called my daughter over for some blogging help and she told me “Just say something about peeps and chicks.”  Great.  That was really inspiring.  I guess I’m on my own.

Even though I am at a lost for words, I want to make sure I give credit to Mabelle for yet another adorable image.   Cute, cute, cute!  I just want to give him a squeeze.

Here is a look at the complete image.  I have the entire image all colored up and ready to go.  I hope I get a chance to make a card with him sometime this week.

So, did you see Donald Driver on “Dancing with the Stars”?   Do you think he is going to have another trophy for his shelf?  I think he did pretty good for the first night.  (Now you know why I can’t think of anything to say.  It’s because I’m watching “Dancing with the Stars”.  No wonder I don’t watch much TV, I can’t multi-task so I wouldn’t be able to get any crafting or blogging done.)

Going for a Joy Ride

My mojo was out for a joy ride this week end. If you see it, tell it to head on home. Time spent in my craft room is no fun with out it.

Even though my mojo was out enjoying the beautiful spring weather we had this weekend, I was able to get one card made. (And it took ALL weekend!) I used one of the new spring/Easter images from Whimsy & Stars. Isn’t this little duckie adorable? I love her convertible!

Catered Crop Linking Party (FTR10)

Last week I was excited to be picked as the inspiration for the Follow the Link Party on Catered Crop. I was given the opportunity to follow my recipe to make another card for the Top Chef Quickfire challenge. (You can see my inspiration card HERE.)

I recently found the digital images from Wax Fruit Company. I totally love these digis. Even though I have a zillion digital stamps, I just had to splurge and purchase a new one for the linking party. Isn’t this bunny CUTE??!!

Here’s how the Catered Crop "Follow-the-Recipe" linking party works. It is easy-peasy!

  1. Use any of the ingredients (themes, colors, techniques, shapes, etc.) in my recipe to make your project. Just pick a few ingredients and then add your own spices to cook up something uniquely yours.
  2. Add your project using the InLinz (froggy) button on the Catered Crop link party post to join the party.
  3. Keep the party going by clicking on some of the other entries and leaving a comment or two.
  4. Be sure to list your recipe or tell us what ingredient you used from the sample recipe.
  5. Don't forget to link back to this post or include the "I Followed the Recipe" button on your blog (see the side bar to the right).

Here's myFTR10 recipe:

  • Pattern Paper – stripes, miniprints
  • Colors – pastels
  • Stamps – go digital, bunnies, butterflies, and flowers
  • Color Mediums – Copic markers, paint, white pens
  • Embellishments – burlap, pinwheels, twine, buttons, eyelets, brads
  • Tools – sewing machine, Cropadile, die cuts
  • Techniques – sewing, distressing
  • Theme – Spring

For my project, I used the following from the recipe:
