Cute Fox

I can't wait until spring.  We have had so much snow and cold lately.  I'm tired of being cooped up in my house.  I think the two things I miss the most are taking my dogs for long walks (and not having to clean them afterward) and meeting my girl friends for outdoor (socially distanced) coffee dates.  I miss chatting with my friends!  I'm a little jealous of this little fox meeting his friend for a chat.

For a little added texture I die cut a Starbucks coffee cup sleeve.  (Maybe it was saved during one of the coffee chats with my friends...)

I hope you have a great day!  Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Supplies:

  • Stamps:  Cute Fox digital stamp from Lee Holland Art

Whimsy & Stars Studio–St. Patty’s Teddy

If you have followed my blog for awhile, you probably remember that I love St. Patrick’s day.    I have my playlist already with bands like the Pogues, Seven Nations, the Tossers and Flogging Molly.  The corned beef is ready to go into the pot.

In keeping in the spirit of the week, I had make a card using sweet St. Patty’s Teddy from Whimsy & Stars Studio.  He is such a sweetie!

Shop Pumpkin Spice March Blog Hop

Welcome to the March blog hop for Shop Pumpkin Spice!   I am your very first stop on the hop.

Today also kicks of the new weekly challenge at the Pumpkin Spice blog.  Our challenge this week is “Use green and 4 of something.”    For my project, I used both the color green and green in the sense of recycling.   The heart is cut from a recycled Starbucks coffee sleeve.     These beautiful green designer papers are from Lily Bee Designs Handmade 6x6 Tiny Tablet, which is my latest favorite.  You can purchase this tablet at Shop Pumpkin Spice for only $4.20.     All card stock is from Bazzill Basics.

Pumpkin Spice - X’s and O’s

Hello!  Today is my day to post on the Pumpkin Spice blog.  This week’s challenge is to use X’s and O’s in your creations.   Denine further challenged the DT to see what we could make with the focus on designer paper and only use stamps for sentiments.   This idea popped into my head immediately.    (Gosh, I love when that happens!)

2013-02-27 PSS X O WM

On the back side of my top layer, I measured and marked where I wanted the die cuts.   Although I used metal dies, you could do the same thing with your die cutting machine.  The pieces of designer paper are adhered to the back side of the white piece so it shows through the negative spaces.    I think there are so many possibilities to this design.  You could use other words or shapes to fit any occasion.    I finished off my card with stitching because, well, I almost always use stitching.  I couldn’t resist adding some coordinating bakers twine.

The sentiment was added by creating my own, custom rub-on.  You can find a tutorial here.

I hope you will join our X’s & O’s challenge.   You can find all the challenge details and link up your project here.

Thank you for stopping by!

Pumpkin Spice–Last Minute Valentine’s Day Cards

Hello!   I have a couple more Valentine’s day cards to share with you.   I kept these really easy so that they would quick to make at the last minute.

2013-02-13 PSS Quick Valentine 2 WM

I didn’t even use Valentine themed papers.  The hearts are from papers from Handmade Tiny Tablet from Lily Bee Designs.    (I think these might be me new favorite papers.  I love the colors!)  This paper pad is only $4.20 at Pumpkin Spice.

2013-02-13 PSS Quick Valentine 1 WM

I love to stitch on almost all my cards but if you need some last minute cards, you could skip the sewing or use faux sewing.  You could even make these as single layer cards.   I’m thinking about using the same design but with different die cut shapes and sentiments to make some more quick cards for my stash.  Hmmm… what about stars and birthday greetings?

Don’t forget to share your Valentine’s day projects with us at the Pumpkin Spice Challenge!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Great Impressions Stamps - Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made using Help From Your Friends (G78) from Great Impressions Stamps.  Aren’t these critters cute?

2013-01-21 GI Friends WM

I decided to use some nice, warm colors  and move away from using red.  With Christmas and Valentine’s Day, I feel like I have been using red on almost every project lately.

I couldn’t quite get the colors correct in the photo.  The mat, “Hi” and ribbon are all a warm grey that coordinates with the DP.    They look slightly olive on my screen.    I didn’t have quite the right color ribbon, so I colored it with my Copic markers so that it coordinated better.

Please “Like” Great Impressions Stamps on Facebook HERE so you don’t miss out on any announcements or give-aways.    Great Impressions Stamps is also now on Pinterest.   Click HERE to follow.

I hope this brightens your day a bit.  Thank you for stopping by!

Dashing Through the Snow!

I broke out my Christmas songs playlist this week and have been listening to it every day. My daughter has also been practicing a couple Christmas songs the piano. She is going to play 2 songs during the Christmas program at school and is really excited about it.

This week Melissa is releasing a new set of digital images based on Christmas carols. I used “Jingle Bells” because the song has been running through my head. I also wanted to tie some bells on my card but decided to leave them off so that my card would still be easily mailed.

Here is a look at the complete new release which will be in the Meljen’s Designs store today.

The new challenge coordinates perfectly with the new digis. This week we are asking you to be inspired by a Christmas song. How fun is that? Check the Meljen’s Designs blog for the rules and to link up your project.

While you are at the Meljen’s Designs blog, you might want to check out the projects from our new DT members. This is their first project as teamies and I know they would love for you to stop by their blogs and leave a comment.

Bugaboo Fan of the Month

A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I would be interested in being the Bugaboo Fan of the month for May. Of course I had to jump on the chance. Bugaboo has such a great variety of images and the DT is so fun and talented. It was fun having my bio in the Bugaboo monthly newsletter. (Pssst…. If you don’t get the newsletter, you might want to sign up HERE. In each letter there are discounts, news tidbits and freebies.) And, I get to participate with the DT in the Catch the Bug challenge. This week’s challenge is “Anything Goes”.

I have needed several “Get Well” cards lately and used the opportunity to use Bugaboo’s Bug Jar – Bugs to make this card. I love the entire Bug Jar line at Bugaboo, but for some reason this one just makes me smile. I think it is the little bug peeking over the top of the jar.

When I started typing up my post, I noticed you can’t see the entire sentiment. The ticket says “Caught A Bug?”. I would take a new photo for my post, but I already mailed the card off. Sorry…

Did you notice the cute yo-yo flower on my card? I have to admit I didn’t make it. I won it in a package of blog candy goodies from my blogging buddy, Anita. I always admire them on her cards and was thinking about actually making some myself when I won some. Yippee!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a fabulous week end! Don’t forget to stop by the Catch the Bug blog and enter the “Anything Goes” challenge.
