Happy Saturday! I spent the day with my daughter and we had a great time. (Except she wanted to listen to Christmas songs all day.) We actually got to see some of Santa's reindeer. Check out Vixen. Isn't she cute? We got to pet her a little bit. I could not believe how soft she was.
All the Christmas songs must have sunk in because "Deck the Halls" has been running through my head endlessly this evening. Although I started this card yesterday, I now knew how I wanted to finish it up. I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #107 (WSC107) and the Dare U 2 Digistamp Challenge #26 to use glitter. I also used a faux stitching digital stamp (details below) as a guide for my paper piercer and then used my Chocolate Chip SU marker for the stitching. This is the for Little C's Stamp N' Scrap Hawaii challenge to use stitching (faux stitching is okay). I used my Cricut to cut several of the snowflakes out of scraps of the kraft cs and then used my Xyron to stick them together. I do not have any chipboard on hand and wanted to make it a little thicker.

My friend, Jesse, came over today so that we could work on Christmas cards. While we only finished 2 cards each, we did have fun and catch up on a lot of chit-chat. I really like the cards she made using Stampin' Up's Merry & Bright so I snapped a couple of pictures before she left to post. Aren't these just too cute?

You're So Sweet!

I always need birthday cards for my stash so I decided to play with this cute ice cream float image from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff. It made me think of the warm days of summer. *Big sigh*

I also used WordArt to make the sentiment around the float. I will put up a tutorial in the next week or so to show you how to do it. It is pretty easy and gives you so many options with your digital (and even stamped) images.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

I really like the way this card turned out. The central image is from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff Christmas Cupcake Wrappers digital stamp set. I wanted to do something with this set ever since I first saw it, but I don't make cup cakes, so.... here is my card. The set is very versatile. Not only can you use it to decorate your cupcakes, you can use it on cards, boxes, gift bags, etc. (Hint, hint - I have a special project in mind using this set for later in the month. Make sure you check back.)

Birthday Gift for a friend

I made this birthday gift for a friend. I haven't given it to her yet but I thought it would be safe to post since she hardly ever jumps on the computer and doesn't follow my blog.

I bought the La Creme Stack by DCWV last week at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon. I love the flocking on the paper. I paired it up with some white and black card stock that I already had in my stash. I made a card box with 8 blank cards. (I show 2 examples in the pictures but they are all different.) I am including an altered notebook, beaded pen, book mark, 4 magnets and a paperweight. I also have a box of delicious Choxie chocolates to throw in. I added some paper to the plain white gift bag to jazz it up a bit and will tie it with black ribbon.

I used Lindsay's Sketchy Leaves set to make this card. Thank goodness I don't need a sympathy card right now but I wanted to make one to have ready when needed. These beautiful stamps can be used for so many different things.

The layout is from Mercy's Sketch Challenge MTSC46 . I also used the cracked glass technique because I love the look of cracked glass with the autumn leaves. If you haven't tried it, you can find a tutorial on SplitcoastStampers.

I hope you had a terrific Halloween. My daughter dressed up as a fortune teller complete with a crystal ball. Although she was disappointed that no one wanted her to tell their fortune, she still had a great time trick or treating. We then had friends over for pizza and a bonfire. We all had a good time.

This is my first post with my brand new Dell Inspiron lap top. I love it! I am getting use to a few differences from my ol' dinosaur of a computer but should have it all down pat soon. The biggest difference is the size of the keys on the keyboard. They are huge for a laptop (which is a good thing) but I keep hitting the wrong keys when I am typing. So, if you see any crazy words in this posting, just ignore them because I probably just hit the wrong keys....

Today I took some time to play with some of Lindsay's digital images (although I am only posting one card now). This cute cup was a freebie on her blog The Frugal Crafter.
