Happy Fall with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

I don't know about you, but I am happy that it is time for the kiddos to head back to school and to get back in to the regular routine. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the fall colors, the gorgeous blue skies, the crisp air, and all the fun activities like apple picking, hay rides and bonfires. To celebrate all this good stuff, Lindsay is having an End of Summer sale Thursday through Saturday with 30% off everything in her mygrafico store.






To continue to show my love of the autumn season, I made an easel card this week using Sketchy Leaves along with the cracked glass and ruffled ribbon techniques.





After printing the leaf print on my card stock, I colored it using sponge daubers and my ink pads. It couldn't be easier and I think it looks pretty cool.




I apologize for the quality of my photos this week. I took these pretty late at night and was having some issues with my home-made light box.

Proud To Be An American

I love celebrating Independence Day with he parades, the cook outs, the gathering of friends and family and fireworks. I love seeing people proudly displaying their flags and kids decorating their bikes with streamers. Now doesn't this little bear look like he is enjoying the July 4th festivities?

Patriotic Bear and the "Proud to be an American" sentiment are part of the Meljen's Designs new release available at Whimsy Stamps.

As soon as I saw the new release, I knew exactly want I wanted to do. For once, a project turned out the way I envisioned it. This little bear is so stinkin' cute and he certainly looks proud. Here is a closer look at him.

Happy Birthday Lindsay' Stamp Stuff! Hop, Shop, Crop & Blog Candy

It's here! Over the next 3 days (April 13-15th) we are celebrating the first birthday of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff! Lindsay has planned a lot of special events to celebrate.

Sweet Stuff is one of my favorite, go-to sets for birthdays but it is very versatile and can be used for other occasions such as Valentine's Day or Thinking of You. Here is a look at the complete set.



I also made an easel card using this same set. Easel cards are so popular right now but most of the ones I have seen are square. I wanted to make one that could fit into a standard A2 envelope. (Of course I got carried away with the layers so it might be a bit heavy to mail...)






To make a A2 sized easel card you will need a piece of card stock for the base that is 4-1/4" x 11". The front of the card is made of another piece of card stock cut 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". Score the long piece at 5-1/2" and 8-1/4". If this doesn't make sense to you, see my post HERE on easel cards for more instructions.

Happy Birthday Easel Card

I was inspired to try an easel card after seeing the adorable card that follow DT member Karin made HERE a few weeks ago. I dare you to take a look at it and not say "Awww..." It is soooo cute! You can find the tutorial for your very own easel card on Splitcoast Stampers HERE. They are a lot easier than they look and a ton of fun to put together.

I used the sketch from the Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge #13. This card also qualifies for the Sunday Stamptacular Challenge - #43 Pop-Up and the Paper Sundaes second challenge.

I also tried out the scrunched flowers that seem to be so popular everywhere lately. You can find a tutorial HERE. I did make one using a scallop as shown in the tutorial but it was too big for my card layout. For this card, I used my small 5-petal flower punch instead. I spritzed them with a little Pearl Glimmer Mist to give them some sparkle and let them dry while I made the inside of my card. (True confession time: I hated using book pages for these even though I think they look really cool. It is against my nature to damage a book. In fact, I feel so guilty about defacing a book I think I am going to have to go eat a piece of chocolate. Hmmmm...to bad I don't have any cupcakes on hand.)

Speaking of cupcakes, I love Lindsay's Sweet Stuff digital stamp set. You can use it for almost any occasion. I used it for a birthday card in this post and HERE and you can see a card I made for Valentine's Day HERE.

I was able to figure out the problem I was having with my new blog design. I have a few things left to tweak but am pretty much done. What do you think? I think I had a problem because I wasn't feeling too well and had problems following the easy installation instructions.
