Best Witches with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

This past week end, my mojo was totally working for me. I got 6 cards done. That is amazing since usually I struggle to get 2-3 done. And I didn't even craft on Saturday because we took a trip down to Ikea to check out furniture and storage solutions for my future craft room. Yeah me! Okay, I am going to pipe down now before my muse thinks I am cocky and totally deserts me and get to the details of my LSS DT card.

I had fun making this card. I created the pumpkin using 3 ovals cut using my nesties. I embossed them and inked the edges. The stem was hand cut and then embossed and inked. After I assembled the pumpkin, I folded a matching piece of orange paper (for the fold in the card) and then traced my pumpkin. I cut it out for my card base and attached my pumpkin to the front. Does that make sense? If you would like more info, please feel free to email me.

I thought Lindsay's cute little witch from Cute Halloween would look perfect here. She is attached using pop dots from some dimension. I am still practicing using my Copic markers. This is the first time I tried to color anything black. Some parts of her look better than others but I was afraid to keep messing around with her.

Here is a look at the complete Cute Halloween set.

Please visit the rest of the DT blogs to see their LSS creations this week. As always, Lindsay will have a freebie on her blog.

Sentimental Sundays #22 - Let's See Some Dimension

The new Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Let's See Some Dimension". I enjoyed making this card because the image reminds me of my daughter when she still had long hair.

This picture shows the dimension a little better.

I used Hug Snug seam binding to tie a double bow. The snowflakes are layered to add a bit more dimension.

Please join the Sentimental Sundays "Let's See Some Dimension". The rules are really easy - create a new project (it can be combined with other challenges), use a sentiment, and follow the challenge theme. You can use any stamps or products that you would like. For more information or to link up your creation, go to the Sentimental Sundays blog. Remember that Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs posts a new freebie each week.

I hope you are having a great week end. I think I am finally getting a craft room. Currently, I have everything put away and then I drag it out to the kitchen table when I want to craft. Then I put it all way when I am done for the evening or for dinner time. I am to excited to get a space to use and I can leave partially completed projects out. If you have any tips on things that work great or maybe don't work so well in your craft space, I would love to hear them. I don't have much of a budget and a chunk of that is going to have to go for some decent lighting in the room.

Challenges:

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Lily in Her Winter Coat from Pink Cat Studios, Tree Trimming Trios from PaperTrey
  • Papers & CS: PaperTrey white CS, GP white CS, Stampin' Up Pretty in Pink CS, BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses DP,Wausau Paper Metallics CS

Music Saves My Soul - week 2

Marcea had the great idea to share a song each week that you love or just want to share with others. My song this week is "Good Enough" by the Benjy Davis Project. Unfortunately they don't have a slick video to go with the song, but I love it all the same. This song has some great lyrics. I hope you enjoy it.

Holiday Blessings with Firecracker Designs

This is my final post as a Guest DT member for Firecracker Designs by Pamela. *sniff* I would like to thank Pamela and Shelly for inviting me as a guest designer. I enjoyed my month on the team with these wonderfully supportive ladies.

For my final project I made another Christmas card for OWH. These poinsettias are so pretty. I printed them out twice and layered for some dimension. I love the texture on this card with the flocked papers & the lace. I used metallic gold paper under the poinsettias and the label/sentiment. You really can't see it too well in the photo but it looks really nice IRL.

Remember that Pamela is closing the store in December. If you have your eye on something, you may want to get it now before it is sold out. The coupon code BYEBYEFDC is good for 10% of your order before 10-1-10. You can keep track of all the information on sales, discounts and the store closing HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful week end.

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff - Birthday Card for OWH

Since I just sent a box of cards to OWH, I am starting to work on filling up a new box. I decided to use Lindsay's Steam Punk Stamps to make a birthday card because I haven't had the chance to play with the set yet.

Isn't this bike image fun? And it was so easy to use. Print it out, distress the edges with ink, and it is ready to go. I love having images like this on hand when you don't feel like, or don't have time for, coloring.

Look at the other fun images that come in this digital stamp set.

Since today is the first day of autumn, mygrafico.com is having a one-day only sale. Stop by the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff store on mygrafico to pick up some new digital sets.

Stop by the rest of the DT to see what they have created this week. Lindsay will have her weekly freebie up on her blog.

Check this out!

I am soooo proud of my 8-yr old daughter, Liz. The card she made was one of the top 3 picks at Moving Along With The Times. She is going to be just thrilled when I show her in the morning. Is it wrong to go wake her up? Yes, probably. I won't, but I want to.

If you would like to see her card, her blog is HERE.

Music Saves My Soul #1

I just found out about a new challenge hosted by Marcea called "Music Saves My Soul Saturday". Since I love many different types of music and am rarely not listening to it, this challenge is perfect for me. The first song I want to share is one that has been stuck in my head all week. It makes me feel like dancing around the house (and maybe I do when no one is watching...)

How You Like Me Now? by the Heavy

This is my first time embedding a video in my post. My fingers are crossed that it works.

Do you have a song you love, is stuck in your head, or just want to share? Check out Music Saves My Soul Saturday.

Trick or Treat with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff & a Sale

I was trying to come up with some quick and easy projects for Halloween when I spied my bin of washed out Starbucks frap bottles. I kept my project relatively easy so that I could duplicate it and alter several bottles.

I printed several of the skull labels (for multiple bottles) from Vintage Halloween Labels on orange card stock, cut out with my nesties and sponged the edges with black ink. On the top of the bottle, I used a circle of purple DP and one of the circular labels from the Halloween Odds & Ends freebie digi set Lindsay offered last week printed on orange paper. It looked a little plain so I added a button but I was thinking of making an eyeball using punches. (Too freaky??) Honestly, it took me less time to decorate the bottle than it did to get the original label and the gummy residue off of it. That is what is so great about the Vintage Halloween Labels set. You can do so much with them for a nice impact with out it taking a ton of time.

Here is a look at the entire set which can be used to make treat packaging, cards, or even jazz up the bottles and other items used at a Halloween party. Although coloring looks great, if you don't feel like it, a little sponging is just perfect for these labels.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope this gave you some ideas for Halloween. If you like the Vintage Halloween Labels set or any other digi stamp set or SVG file set from Linday's Stamp Stuff, you are extra lucky today. Lindsay is having a September sale with 30% off everything in her mygrafico store through 9-17.

Remember to stop by the rest of the DT to see what wonderful creations they devised this week. Lindsay will have a freebie posted on her blog.

Sentimental Sundays: Christmas Cards for OWH

This week on the Sentimental Sundays blog, we would like you to make and send Christmas cards to Operation Write Home. If you are not familiar with Operation Write Home, they are an organization that sends blank handmade greeting cards for all occasions to deployed service members to write home on. They’ve mailed approximately 500,000 cards so far—and are still going strong! Our challenge to you is to make cards to send to them for our nation’s heroes.

I was able to get 10 cards in 4 different styles completed to send to OWH. I tried to keep them relatively flat so that they would be easy to mail.

OWH has a few important guidelines which you can read here; it’s important especially to remember that glitter is NOT allowed (it’s a safety hazard to our heroes), handmade cards only, and OWH needs A2 sized cards. “Operation Write Home” needs to be on the backs of your cards—it can be stamped, handwritten, or printed on labels. Please include a packing slip inside your box or envelope, and mail them to any of their shippers listed on the Mailroom page. In your package, you can also include notes written to a deployed service member. We are asking that you make and mail your Christmas card to OWH this week, but the dead line for all Christmas cards is a postmark date of October 30th.

I hope you will join the Sentimental Sundays challenge to make and send Christmas cards to OWH to support our troops. Stop by the blog to download your free sentiment set from Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs.

Snowmen Fall From Heaven Unassembled

This is my second post as a guest designer on the Firecracker Designs digi team. I loved this image as soon as I saw it. It was a breeze to color and so easy to use. It is also nestie compatible, although I hand cut my image and mat.

I broke out my brand new October Afternoon holiday papers and my favorite trim. (I found some more at a local crafting store and bought the last little bit they had.) I used up some old snowflake eyelets that have been in my stash forever. I don't know where I got them or who made them. Both layers of DP were dry embossed to add a little texture.

You can keep track of what is going on with Fire Cracker Designs on Pamela's blog or by visiting the store. You can see the Child of Winter digi I used along with the rest of the series HERE in the store. Did you know that Pamela offers a free digi most week ends? The one from last week end is a wonderful autumn digi. Download it before it is moved into the shop.

My friends will find that shocking but it's true. So, with that introduction, I will get right on to my Lindsay's Stamp Stuff project for the week.

Remember to stop by the rest of the DT to check out their projects this week. Lindsay will have a special freebie to share with you. Lisa is not posting this week. Birthdays Are For (Cup)Cake!

I made this card for a friend's birthday. When I went to adjust the photo for posting, I noticed that the bow looks a bit wonky. I was practicing with my copics trying to make this little guy look like he has fur. What do you think? Does he look furry or just spotty?

Smiley Snowman

I have a weakness for snowmen and when I saw this image from Sweet 'n Sassy I bought him using the discount from the blog hop earlier this week. If you participated in the hop, you probably saw that members of the DT were hosting 3 special challenges. I made this card specifically for the sketch challenge and the non-traditional Christmas colors challenge. (I really wanted to squeeze the third challenge in too but I just couldn't swing it.)

I had a sketch, I knew what image I wanted to use and I thought it would take me no time at all the get this card done. It's not like there was a lot of coloring to do. I could not have been more wrong. Did you ever have one of those days were every piece of paper you cut was wrong? I certainly did. First it was too small, then it was cut crooked. I used up an entire 12x12 piece of paper making this card because of all my mistakes. Anyhow, I finally finished this card. I don't really like the DP with the embossing, but it's stuck down now. I decided to still share it because not every project can turn out how we envision it.

If you missed the Sweet N Sassy blog hop, you still can see the wonderful creations from the DT starting on the Sweet N Sassy blog. I used the sketch from Janette's blog and the non-traditional Christmas colors challenge from Chrissy's blog.

Thank you for looking!

Fire Cracker Design GDT - Happy Birthday Bouquet

blinkie-guest Digi

Check it out! I was asked to be a guest digi designer for Fire Cracker Designs by Pamela for the month of September. I am really excited and love working with Pamela's images. I am just getting to know the rest of the DT but they are a talented, fun group of ladies. Thank you Shelly and Pamela for this opportunity.

.

.

For my first project this month, I made a birthday card using Mother's Bouquet. These flowers are so pretty, easy to color and versatile too. I think I went a little Stickles crazy trying to bling it up a bit but I think it still looks good IRL.

You can keep track of what is going on with Fire Cracker Designs on Pamela's blog or by visiting the store.

Oh Baby!

Today we are having a surprise virtual baby shower for our team mate Tamara! She expecting a baby boy any day now. You can watch Tamara's blog for more news.

This is the card that I sent Tamara. I paper pieced the bunny from Lindsay's Babies & Bows digital stamp set and used the one of the freebie bingo cards from Baby Bingo Cards. The bunny has a fuzzy, flocked belly and is layered to give him a little dimension. The ribbon was colored with copics and crinkled using a little glimmer mist.

Please stop by the rest of the LSS DT blogs to check out their baby cards and stop Tamara's blog to leave your best wishes. As always, Lindsay will have a freebie available on her blog. Tracy wasn't able to post with us today, but will have something for you tomorrow.
