Sentimental Sundays Challenge #37- Anything With Wings

The new Sentimental Sunday's challenge is "Anything with Wings". We want to see your creations with anything with wings: butterflies, fairies, air plane, birds, or anything else with wings. Don't forget to include a sentiment!

I used "Miss You Birdie", a freebie, from Meljen's Designs. It is going into my stack of cards for OWH. I kept it pretty flat so that it will be easy to mail and used faux stitching to jazz it up a bit.

I hope you will join us in the "Anything with Wings" challenge at the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog. Be sure to download your free sentiments from Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs.
Enjoy the rest of your week end! Thank you for stopping by!
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Miss You Birdie (freebie) from Meljen's Designs (this image comes in the package of 23 free digi stamps. The download link is in the side bar.)
  • Papers & CS: Georgia Pacific CS, DCWV Songbird paper pack
  • Inks: None
  • Tools: Prismacolor Markers, paper piercing tool, Stampin' Up edge punch
  • Embellishments: Stampin' Up close to cocoa marker

My second award comes from Tameko . I recently found her blog when she joined the Sentimental Sundays challenge team. Stop by her blog to see her wonderful projects. She has a fabulous eye for color.

For this award you are supposed to list 3 things that make me different from everyone else & pass the award to 5 fellow bloggers.

Things that make me different from every one else:

**I am hopelessly addicted to Starbucks mochas.
**I hate shopping, especially shopping for clothes.I shop when I have to but on-line shopping rules. (I love amazon.com & Landsend.com!)
**I love to sleep. I need a good 8 hours a night to function and not be cranky. I love it if I get 9 hours.

My last award comes from Iris. I encourage you to check out her blog. She is one talented 10-year old.

1) Thank the person giving you this award and link to their blog. **Thank you Iris!

** Okay, here are the people that I choose to pass the award too - All of you! If you would like to participate and pass any of these awards on to your blogging friends, go right on ahead. I know, I'm breaking the rules a bit. That's me, the rebel. (See I did share something else about me.)

Have a great week end!

Meljen's Designs Challenge #40 - Make It MOVE!

I like to move it, move it! That song has been stuck in my head for the last few days. I'm totally blaming it on the new Meljen's Designs challenge, "Make it MOVE!".

For this challenge I decided to make a roller card using the new Meljen's Designs image "Loving Ewe". Good thing I didn't make a shaker card because I probably would have had KC and the Sunshine Band stuck in my head.

Here is a look at all the new digis which are available in the Whimsy Stamps store.

I hope you will join in the "Make it MOVE!" challenge on the Meljen's Designs blog. You can join making roller, shaker, slider, pop up, spinner, waterfall, or wiper cards just to name a few. See the Meljen's Designs blog for all the details.

Don't forget about the Whimsy Stamps blog hop. Several of the designers used images from this Meljen's Designs release. You can find the details about the hop on my post HERE.

Thank you for stopping by!

Whimsy New Digi Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Whimsy Stamps January digi release blog hop!!!! This is my first post as a Whimsy Stamps digi design team member. I am so excited!

On the hop today, we have lots of new images created by Crissy, Ann, and Melissa to share with you. We also have some beautifully pre-colored images, designed by Melissa Jenkins of Meljen's Designs, which are great for making quick cards. Each file is JPG at 300dpi for high print quality. You can resize, flip, or rotate to fit your own project.

If you have arrived here from Anneke's beautiful blog then you are in the right place. If you were not following along with the hop, why not join in the fun by starting at the beginning of the hop, which is Debbie’s blog?

Today I used Crissy Armstrong's newly released image, Dance of Love. Isn't she gorgeous?

To find this image along with all of the new release, please visit the Whimsy Stamps store.

Be sure to leave comments as you hop. SIX mystery DT Members will be choosing a winner from the comments left on their hop posts! These winners will each win a Whimsy Stamps digi image of their choice.

The Grand Prize winner of the hop will be chosen from the very last stop, Denise’s blog, and will receive 5 new digital stamps of their choice from Whimsy Stamps. They will also get a chance to use those new digital images as a guest designer for Whimsy for the entire month of January.

The hop will run until 12 noon EST, Thursday, January 13th, when the winner will be announced on the Whimsy Inspirations blog.

Your next stop on the hop is Stephanne's blog. I know she has some lovely eye-candy for you.

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff - Just My Type

This week I wanted to make a masculine card. Since I haven't used it too much, I thought I would play around with Lindsay's Steam Punk style digital stamps set.

I have to say I enjoyed making this card. The vintage typewriter image was colored using distress inks. It was so easy because the shading is already provided in the image. I slit the image using my craft knife so I could insert the typed message. You could put any message you wanted here. I printed mine using Word and cut to size.

Here is a look at the entire set.

I also have an enabler alert for you! Mygrafico is having their New Year retirement sale through January 9th. All retiring sets are only $1.00. Yep, just $1.00, I didn't make a typo.

Here is a list of Lindsay's Stamp Stuff sets that you will be able to get for just $1.00.

Sentimental Sundays #36 - Celebrate Friendship

Welcome 2011!

This week we have such a fun challenge on the Sentimental Sundays blog. Our theme is "Celebrate Friendship". Where would we be with out our friends? Thank you to all my friends and blogging buddies for your support and friendship during 2010. I made this card with all of you in mind.

This is the first Sentimental Sundays challenge with a Sponsor. Deedee's Digis is sponsoring this challenge with a $10 gift certifcate to the DeeDee's Digis store. Along with the GC, you can win 2 digital sentiment sets from Raindrop Echo Designs (available on Whimsy Stamps). See the Sentimental Sundays blog for the complete details.

Over the holidays we made some progress getting my crafting room set up. Right now I am kind of influx. Some of my crafting goodies are upstairs in my crafting room, some are still downstairs in my office. We are still trying to figure out the best options for storage and some additional work space. We'll get it done. Until then, maybe I'll lose some of the "holiday pounds" from running up and down the stairs so much.

Happy New Year! Thank you for stopping by!
