Apple Picking Bear

I was scrolling through my collection of digital stamps looking for an autumn or Halloween image to print and color.  When I saw this bear from Birdie Brown I just had to pick him.  For some reason he reminds me of my brother. (Don't tell him!)

Here is a closer look at this sweet bear.  Now I want to make a trip to the apple orchard.  I love their cider donuts and better yet, cider shakes!

Since I printed 2 images and was able to color them both without wrecking one, I had to make another card.  I decided to try my hand at another shaker card.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Supplies:

  • Image - Apple Bear digital stamp by Birdie Brown
  • Papers:  Jillibean Soup - Apple Cheddar Soup 6x6 mini pad, Georgia Pacific white card stock, PaperTrey kraft and chocolate card stock.
  • Medium:  Copic markers

Great Impressions Stamps - Harvest Mouse

Hello!  Happy Monday!  I have another new card using Harvest Mouse (F169) from Great Impressions Stamps.

Last weekend, a friend from work wanted to come over to make a card.  She picked out Harvest Mouse to make a card and try her hand at Copic Markers.  While I was teaching her how to use Copic markers, I colored  this image.    Since he was sitting on my desk, I had to put him on a card.

When I think of autumn birds, for some reason crows always come to my mind.   I wish all the crows around my house were as cute as this little bird!   (Did you know a group of crows is called a “murder””?  No wonder they have such a sinister reputation.)

You may be wondering about the other image “It’s Fall”.  Don’t worry, if you love that image as much as I do, it will be available in the Whimsy and Stars Studio store later today.

Thank you for stopping by!  Don’t forget to stop by the Whimsy & Stars Studio blog to download Sunflower Bird before Saturday.

Thank You Bunches

I love all the sunflowers that you can see every where this time of year.  Unfortunately the sunflowers in our back yard did not do so well this summer.  I think the drought and the chipmunks did them in.

Since I don’t have any in my yard, I’ll have to settle for images of sunflowers.    Over the weekend, I decided to color the Whimsy and Stars Studio image “Sunflower Teapot”.

Just Chicken In!

*** Be sure to check back later today for my Meljen’s Designs DT post ***

I am excited to be a Guest Designer for Shelly’s Images again. We were asked to work with this image, Hen. The timing couldn’t be more perfect since I am going to go to the Wisconsin State Fair with my family later this week. (There is a cream puff as big as my head in the near future!) I’m sure we will see a few hens similar to this while we are there.

This is the first time I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS on Kraft. I’ve seen people around the web doing this and love the results. (If you want to see a master of this technique, check out Dorcas’ blog.) I love Shelly’s images, especially her animals. They all look so realistic but with the shading she includes in the image, they are always easy to color and use. I used an old Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS118) for inspiration.

Please stop by the Shelly’s Images blog to see what her talented designers have made with this image.

Thank you for stopping by!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Hen by Shelly’s Images
  • Inks: None
  • Papers & CS: Papertrey kraft & dark chocolate CS, misc. kraft CS, Dutch Mustard from Jillibean Soup DP pad
  • Tools: Sewing machine, Prismacolor pencils & OMS
  • Embellishments: Papertrey button twine, misc button & trim

Amber Ink - Deer Friend & Blog Hop Candy Winner

I have another Amber Ink project to share with you today. I'm posting this a little early because I have to travel for work tomorrow and I won't get a chance to get on line. I know I can schedule a post but I just wanted to get it done now to make sure I don't have any Blogger issues.

This sweet little deer is part of the Wild Animal With Heart (WAWH) series. When you purchase this image, it comes two ways. It comes as you see it here and also with hearts (where I put the spots). Sooo cute and versatile!

Now, down to the important stuff. Who is the winner of the Bunny Hug image provided by Amber Ink during the OWH blog hop? I won't make you wait any longer...

Okay, maybe just a little bit longer.....

Just kidding....

The winner is....

#7 - Seongsook Duncan

Congratulations Seongsook! Please email me at shestamps11-blogs at yahoo dot com to claim your Bunny Hug digital image. If you were not the winner but really like the Bunny Hug image, you can find it in the Amber Ink store.

Thank you to every one that stopped by my blog during the Operation Write Home bunny hop. I really enjoyed reading all your comments. If you didn't hop with us, you still have time to visit all the projects and sign up for chances to win candy at some of the other stops. You can get more information on the hop from THIS post.

I can't believe this is the fourth of my six projects as an Amber Ink torchbearer. The time is just flying by. You will get to meet the new torchbearers on March 21. Until then I have a couple more projects to share with you but you'll have to come back to see them.

Have a great day!
