Watermelon Boy

This big slice of watermelon practically has my mouth watering.  Doesn’t it look yummy?   This week I wanted to use this sweet, summer image (Watermelon Boy) for my Whimsy & Stars Studio project.

I colored this image a couple of weeks ago but didn’t have a chance to actually make the card.   Somehow during that time, a dirty spot mysteriously showed up on my colored image.    Since I didn’t have time to recolor it and I didn’t want to trim the image down too much more, I decided to use some of my washi tape stash to make some little flags to hide the spot.  
I’m going to keep this short.  I’m just getting back from visiting my aunt and uncle in Virginia.  Elizabeth and I spent a long week end with them at their B&B on Smith Mountain Lake and had a wonderful time.  (If you are looking for a beautiful vacation spot, you can check out their website at http://www.lovestoneinn.com/)

Sunflower Teddy

I love this image from Whimsy and Stars Studio.   Is this teddy just the sweetest?  He’s my latest favorite. 

 

I also used some of my stash of washi tape on this card.   I’m getting sooo bad!  I swear I want almost every color and pattern I see.

 

 

Thank you to every one that sent birthday wishes to my Dad for his 70th birthday.   The party went really well.  We had about 60 people!   I didn’t get a chance to take many pictures because I was busy greeting people and taking care of the food, etc.   I hope to get the pictures my brother took soon.

Hoppy Birthday

Earlier this week, my dad celebrated his 70th birthday.   I used one of my new Purple Onion Designs stamps to make him a birthday card.


I’ve been wanting to get my hands on some of the Purple Onion Designs stamps as soon as I started seeing Freckles, Poppy and Rosie show up on projects around blog-land.  I ordered a couple and was really happy to get the chance to ink up Freckles.  Who knew a frog could be so cute?
I wish I could say that I used up some scraps making this card, but I actually cut these paper strips out of a brand new paper pad.   Oh well,  I’ll have to try to use this design again and use up some actual scraps.  I also used a couple of pieced of wood grain washi tape because, well, I love it and wanted to use it.



I did get my inspiration for my card from this card I saw on Pinterest by Lisa Arana.

Party Time

Happy Tuesday!  Today is a fun one.  Mabelle, from Whimsy & Stars Studio, is releasing two new digital images.    For my project, I decided to use the new image, Cheery Wishes.   I just love the sweet bears that Mabelle draws.

 

I decided to play with some of my washi tapes again.   No DP was harmed in the making of this card.    I used the tape on the white CS to create the background and also pieced it on the party hat and spots on the cake.
