Little Love Duck

Happy Thursday!  It’s time for the new Meljen’s Designs challenge.  This week we have a super fun and super easy challenge for you – ANYTHING GOES!

For my project this week I used the digital image Little Love Duck.    He is so cute and makes me think of spring.  Check out those cute rain boots.

As is my habit lately, I made 2 of this card too.   Since they both are the same, I’ll save you from having to look at both.  1 is for my stash and 1 is for OWH or my daughter’s school fundraiser.

I got some good news this week.  I finally can return to working out.  (Insert  happy dance here!  or should I say insert a Jazzercise dance here?)  I had foot surgery at the end of September, got a stress fracture over the holidays, and then injured myself by tripping up the stairs.    I can finally go back to working out on a limited basis.  Hurray!  I am so happy to be heading back.

Birdhouse In Your Soul

I have another sweet Whimsy & Stars Studio image to share with you too. This little cutie, Bird House Girly, is just perfect for spring. I especially love her because I enjoy feeding and watching our local birds.

Once again, I made 2 cards. One for my stash and one for OWH or my daughter’s schools fundraiser. They use the same design but the papers and embellishments are a little different.

While I was working on my cards, this song kept running through my head. Since it was such a long time since I heard this song, I thought I would share it on Marcea’s blog for Music Saves My Soul.

Bear with me…

Okay, admit it….You like the bear butt… Isn’t he cute? When I first saw him I really thought he was adorable but I wasn’t sure what I would do with it. Well, here you go… One night I decided to color him up anyway and the all the punny sentiments started coming to mind. He is perfect for a belated birthday card.

Once again, I decided to make 2 cards – 1 for my stash and 1 for either OWH or the fundraising auction at my daughter’s school.

Since it’s Thursday, it means there is a new challenge at the Meljen’s Designs blog. This week the challenge theme is PASTELS. Stop by the blog to see the “A” team’s pastel projects, see the challenge rules and link up your project.

Coffee Girl

Hey there coffee girl…. Have you ever heard that song by the Tragically Hip? I had that song stuck in my head the entire time I was making these cards. Although most of the lyrics really don’t match this sweet image, I still couldn’t get the song out of my head. (In fact, it is running thru my head right now!)

This week I’m sharing some cards that I made using the “Coffee Girl” digital stamp from Whimsy & Stars Studio. Isn’t she sweet?

When I started coloring with Copic markers, I would always print out two copies of an image, one for practice and one, hopefully, for my finished card. Often times I had to print more but I started with 2. Since I am getting a bit better using Copics, I am still going to print 2 copies of the image, but I hope that I will be make 2 cards using them. I donate cards to OWH and to my daughter’s school for fund raising so I always can use some extra cards. It will also allow me to make a dent in my paper stash so that I can buy some of the new lines that I saw from CHA.

Here is a look at both cards. I stuck with the same lay out and just changes a few details.

.

Keep your eye on the Whimsy & Stars Studio blog and store. Mabelle is putting some new and returning images in the store.

If you would like to hear “Hey There Coffee Girl” by the Tragically Hip, you can find a video here. All the videos I could find were filmed at shows so the sound quality isn’t the greatest but you still might find it catchy.

Balloon Bunny Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday! Since I am sitting at my daughter’s fencing class for a couple of hours this morning, I thought I would take the time to post a card that I made for a friend’s (Scrap It Girl’s) birthday. (Stop by her blog to check out all her fabulous creations, her scrapping challenge, or to wish her a happy birthday.)

For this card, I inked up a new Lili of the Valley stamp that I got over Christmas. I love LOTV animal stamps. So, so cute!

It also gave me the chance to use one of the Christmas gifts my hubby gave me, one of the PTI Bloom Builders dies. Is he a good gift shopper or what?

If you like this stamp and would like one of your own, keep checking back. I bought 2 of these stamps so that I could give one away as blog candy on my blog. I’ll get the post up soon.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Balloon Bunny from Lili of the Valley, Say It (In Pieces) (digikit) by Hero Arts

Wear Red for Women

** This post will stay at the top of my blog until February 3rd. **

** Please scroll down for new posts. **

Did you know that more women die of cardiovascular disease than from the next four causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer? But 80 percent of cardiac events in women could be prevented if women made the right choices for their hearts.

National Wear Red for Women day is coming up on February 3, 2012. I have set a personal goal to raise money for Go Red for Women and the American Heart Association. Donations support medical research, awareness, education and community programs that will help women live longer heart-healthy lives.

If you would like to donate, you can find my fund raising page at HERE.

Don't forget to wear red on February 3rd and help raise awareness of the signs of heart disease, stroke, & heart attack.

You can click on the badge below to go to the Go Red for Women site to learn more information on the signs of heart attack or stroke.

Thank you

I’m Loving You

It’s an exciting day over at the Meljen’s Designs blog and shop. Melissa is releasing a bunch of new digital stamps and pre-colored digital images for February in the Meljen’s Designs store today. (I’ll give you a peek below.)

Although I enjoy coloring, there are time when I love using precolored images. They are so quick and easy to use when you have a time crunch or want to make several cards quickly. I decided to use some of the new pre-colored digis to make several Valentine’s Day cards for teachers and grandparents. I stayed with the same design on all of them to make the paper & die cutting easier. (My card design is loosely based on sketch MFTWSC18.) First I’ll show you a look at all the cards and then a closer look at each of them.

As promised, here is a look at all the new goodies Melissa is putting into the shop today.

The theme for the new Meljen’s Designs challenge is “Loving You”. Perfect for Valentine’s day. You can link up your card, see the challenge rules and be inspired by the DT’s creations on the Meljen’s Designs blog.

Thank you for stopping by!
