Christmas Roses

I was able to make one more card for the BYSH blog hop.   As usual, I printed out two images in order to make 2 cards for my stash.  Since I messed up the leaves on one of the images, I cut out the flowers and used dimensional foam to add to the image that was colored better.

I added some Buttercup Perfect Pearls to the center of the flowers.  Now I wish I hadn't but I think it still looks okay.   I also added some stitching and a border made from a Starbucks coffee sleeve to add some texture.

Today is the last day to link your Christmas creation to the BYSH blog hop.  Click on the image below to see the details.

Thank you for stopping by!   Have a great weekend.

Great Impressions–Poinsettias & Berries

Happy Monday!  I have a new Christmas card to share with you.   This week I used Poinsettias & Berries (K40) and Season’s Greetings (C427) from Great Impressions Stamps.

I have to admit that bigger stamps like this seem to intimidate me.  I always feel that the card needs to bit bigger to properly show off the image.   But, after coloring this image and messing around with bits of paper, I found a standard A2 layout that I liked.

Now I want to make another card using this stamp.  I’m thinking of paper pieced layers for the poinsettia.  What do you think?

Deck the Halls Birdie

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  I bought this image last year and never had the chance to color it.  If you have followed my blog for a while, you probably have noticed that I love birds and have several bird baths and feeders around my yard.    So, I just couldn’t resist this cute image.

I colored the little bird to look like a black capped chickadee because they are frequent visitors to my feeders during the winter months.

I am still having problems with my ink smearing.  I tried to color this image very carefully but if you look closely you might see some smears.   [Please don’t look that close :)  ]

I even broke out my Stickles and Glossy Accents for this card.  I usually forget to use them or, if I remember, I am too impatient to wait for them to dry so I just skip it.  I’m glad I had the patience to wait this time.  (Or maybe I should be happy that dinner was ready so I had an excuse to walk away so it could dry.)

Have a great week!  Thank you for stopping by!

Beware….

I recently decided to take a step back to my paper crafting roots and start scrapbooking again.  I have been wanting to do it for a while, but I have to admit that I found doing a 12 x 12 layout intimidating.    So I decided to get back to it and do what I am more comfortable with.    So here is my first page, a 6x6 page from last Halloween.    I messed around with some photo effects and kind of like how this turned out.

With St. Patrick’s day now less than a week away, I thought I would share a tune that is in my St. Patty’s playlist.    (This song sums up last week to a tee for me.  Thank goodness for the week end!)   If you would like to share a song in the musical blog hop, stop by Marcea’s blog to link up.
