I’m a Guest Designer and a Give-Away!

My Craft Spot

Hello and Happy Friday!   I was so excited to be asked to be a Guest Designer for My Craft Spot.    I purchased some of my favorite crinkle ribbon and baker’s twine from My Craft Spot so I jumped at the opportunity to play with some stamps.   Not only that, but Kimberly has generously offered 1 stamp set (of the winner’s choice) to one of my blog readers.  Now how fun is that?

I decided to try my hand at some Christmas cards using the Christmas-themed sentiment set, Mistletoe.  I paired the stamp set up with some of my favorite Christmas papers, some paint and a Starbucks coffee sleeve to make a set of 4 Christmas cards.

Here is a look at all the cards together.  I created a triangle template to use to cut the triangles.  Each tree is 3 layered triangles all stitched together.   I love the dimension created by the trees and the texture from the star border cut from the coffee sleeve.  I was also able to use up plenty of paper scraps.

Give away information!

Now for the fun part,  one lucky winner will win 1 stamp set of their choice from My Craft Spot.   So what do you have to do?    Simple!  Stop by My Craft Spot and take a look at all the clear stamps. Leave your contact information in the linky tool below including the name of your favorite My Craft Spot stamp set by Monday, October 1st .   (For example:  Cheryl – Mistletoe or Crafter Jane – Happy Fall)   I will use Random.org to pick the winner and post it on my blog on Tuesday, October 2nd.    Kimberly from My Craft Spot will send the stamp set to the winner.  Of course I would love it if you followed my blog and the My Craft Spot blog in your favorite reader, but that is not necessary to win.

So what are you waiting for?   Go check out all the great stamps at My Craft Spot.

Thank you for stopping by!    Have a great day!

Great Impressions Stamps –Vintage Santa

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  I love this Vintage Santa (G351) stamp from Great Impression Stamps.

2013-09-16 GI Vintage Santa WM

I wanted to give the entire card a bit of a vintage-y feel so I decided to stamp him on kraft paper and leave him uncolored.  I distressed the edges of the all the papers with my scissors and used some ink and paint to grunge them up a bit.  I broke out one of my favorite crafting items, a coffee sleeve from Starbucks, to add a bit of texture.  I hit a major score when I found some felt in one of my odds and ends drawers that coordinated with the papers so I cut out some holly leaves as an embellishment.

I like the way this card turned out.  I’m always nervous about leaving an image uncolored.   I’m worried about things looking unfinished.  But, in this case, I think it works.

If you are thinking about getting started on your Christmas and Holiday projects, stop by the Great Impressions Stamps on-line store to check out their great variety.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

100 Days of Tombow

I was honored to be asked to participate in the “100 Days of Tombow” program.   To celebrate their 100th anniversary, Tombow kicked off a program to work with 100 bloggers across America to celebrate creativity and to showcase how “Tombow time” is enjoyed across the nation.  For each blogger that participates, Tombow will give a $100 product donation to the Council for Art Education.   You can find more information on the “100 Days of Tombow” here.

For my project, I paired up my Tombow products with one of my favorite stamps, Harvest Mouse (F169) from Great Impressions Stamps to make a wine bottle tag.  I like having some of these tags in my stash because the look so nice when giving a bottle of wine as a hostess gift.

I put down my usual adhesive to give Tombow’s  Stamp Runner, Dot Pattern adhesive a try.   I really liked using this Stamp runner.  You can use it as a tape runner and apply a strip of adhesive or more as a stamp to apply just a small spot of adhesive.    I love that it is initially repositionable but sets to a permanent bond.  For more details, click on the photo below to be taken to Tombow’s website.

Tombow also has a broad line of markers and colored pencils to use in your crafts.   You can see their entire product line at https://tombowusa.com/.
