Happy Sunday! It is a beautiful day here in Wisconsin. I should be outside enjoying the weather but everyone else is outside so I snuck back inside for some peace & quiet and to make another card.

DCT29 Things with Wings

Earlier this week, my daughter asked me if I was going to make her a special card for her birthday. I was planning on it, but now there are "expectations". The pressure is on....

When I was looking around for inspiration, I found the DCT29 challenge - Things with Wings. From there, I decided use Itty Bitty Betty butterfly from Pink Cat Studios. Since butterflies are always around flowers, I used my Cricut Wild Card cartridge to cut the card base into a flower shape. To make it a little more fun, I made it into a spinner card.

What do you think? Is this suitably "special" for an eighth birthday?

2 Challenges!

When I saw the Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO109) yesterday, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I had the Doodle Aster stamp from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff that I purchased during the summer and haven't used yet. Then I saw the dry embossing challenge at There She Goes Clear Stamps (TSG25). I couldn't wait to finish up with my day so I could get started. Since I had the complete idea in my head, it shouldn't take long, right??? Well, I finished work, picked up my daughter from school, helped with homework, worked out, folded laundry, made dinner, put laundry away, got my daughter to bed and then I finally had time to put my idea to paper. Easy peasy - HA! First I printed the stamp a few times, colored one, but it was too big to use for the sketch. No problem, printed it again in some smaller sizes and colored. I love that you can resize digital stamps. Anyhow, I somehow grabbed the wrong color red marker and had to do it again. Then because I was trying to hurry, the third attempt looked like it was colored by a First grader. Okay, deep breath, take four was used on my finished product. It did turn out how I had pictured it in my head, but it took a bit longer than expected. What do you think?

Artful Inkables challenge

Today I had time to make 2 cards. This is the first that I make for Artful Inkables challenge AIC05. Used the Cherry Kisses with Snowball digital image from Polly Craft. Not only is it adorable but is was a freebie a few weeks back. I also had to use my new Close to My Heart (CTMH) Jingle paper pack.

Exciting News! Introducing Bigsby Mouse

I have been so excited all week. Last weekend I was asked to make up a sample for a friend of a friend to use when she starts selling digital stamps. Quick Guy Card (SC249)

Today when I needed to send out a card for a friend's birthday, I realized that I had hardly any "guy" cards. I was lacking inspiration and had only about 20 minutes so I looked up last weeks sketch challenge on SplitCoastStampers.

I used SU Cutie Pie paper and CTMH It's Your Day stamp set. Also used So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, and Basic Black ink. It looked a little plain so I add the brads.

I think my mojo is back!

I made this for my wedding anniversary. I know the sentiment is a little strange - but it makes sense if you know my hubbie.

I used Lindsay Weirich's cute digital coffee mug. Be sure to check out Lindsay's blog and her store.

I made the sentiment using WordArt (in MS Word) I used the RGB codes to match the CTMH paper.

All paper (except white base and brown) is from the CTMH Magic Moments pack.

The ribbon was a scrap in the bottom of my green ribbon container and the rickrack is from Martha Stewart.

I paper pieced the cup and saucer from the CTMH paper. Colored in the steam on the blue cup back. Accented with Gelly Roll clear glitter pen.

2nd card for WCMD

I just love Mo Manning's images. After dinner I decided to make another card and used Mo's Bat Cat. A link to Mo's site, Digital Pencil Too, can be found on the side bar. I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS. I used a bit of a Gelly Roll green glitter pen on the eyes. I made the orange paper by typing in random Halloween related words in to Word and filling the page. I then sponged the white paper (with the words) with SU Pumpkin Pie ink. The rest of the paper was misc. colored paper that was in my stash. I used Cuttlebug embossing folders to give texture, sponged with SU Basic Black, and added the black brads. The moon was cut out of a piece in my scrap bin and sponged with Pumpkin Pie and then SU basic black ink.

Happy World Card Making Day & 1st post

This must be the best day for my first blog post. Happy World Card Making Day! I was really planning on being creative today but I woke up not feeling very well and the mojo was not working for me. I did manage to create one card using a beautiful digital stamp "End of Summer" by Mo Manning / Digital Pencil. (The link is available in the side bar) I colored her with prisma pencils and OMS. The beautiful paper is CTMH Amore. Well, I am going to shuffle off and have some tea. I hope my mojo returns and I will have more to post later this week end.
