Gingerbread Boy

'Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!' – From the classic children’s story, “The Gingerbread Man”.

As usual, when I am crafting, I get something stuck in my head and it just runs over and over on replay.    Any guesses as to what was in my head when I was making this card?

Well this little Gingerbread Boy from Whimsy and Stars Studio is just too cute to eat.  I printed him on DP and used my sponges and Copics to add some extra character.   I was thinking about adding some CE to the holly berries, but to be honest, I just didn’t want to wait for it to dry.  (And I was worried about smearing it or otherwise messing him up.)

This little cutie is my first Christmas card for 2012.  I shudder to think of how many more I need to make.  At least I am getting a [somewhat] early start this year.    Have you started your holiday cards?  How about shopping?  (I haven’t started mine yet.  I am planning a lot of on-line shopping this year.  I love Etsy.)

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies:

  • Stamps:  Gingerbread Boy (digital stamp) from Whimsy & Stars Studio,  Holiday Treats from Papertrey Ink
  • Inks:  Stampin’ Up Cranberry Crisp, Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy
  • Papers:  Papertrey kraft CS, Bazzill Basics CS, Echo Park Season’s Greetings paper pad, Stampin’ Up vellum
  • Tools: Sewing Machine, Big Shot, Papertrey Damask Snowflake and Holly Jolly dies, Spellbinders circle dies, Stampin’ Up edge punch, Papertrey linen texture plate, Copic markers, heat tool
  • Embellishments:  misc. dew drops, Ranger clear embossing powder

He's a real cheeful fella Cheryl. Love the bright and happy colours too. As you know, I make Christmas cards all year long. I think I have finished sth. close to 30 now. Since we're not into Christmas presents and are usally celebrating Christmas at home (hubby, me and 6 cats if they want to be in), I don't need to do any serious shopping, except for crafty bargains of course.
As for music, I can remember the time when I was still in school and couldn't get the song Cannot get it out of my head by ELO out of my head LOL.

thankfully I don't know that song - so you can't get it stuck in my head THIS time! LOL

Cheryl, this little gingerbread boy is so adorable! Love him! I haven't started my Xmas cards yet, but I am going to a weekend crop on the 19th & plan to start them then...& hopefully get lots of them finished. That may not happen because I spend lots of time "noseying" at everyone elses work when I am at crops...but surely over the course of a whole weekend I'll get some done! As for shopping...haven't even thought of it yet!
Hugs, Renee
