Put the Kettle On

Hello and Happy New Year!  Today I am sharing my very first project for Pumpkin Spice. I am so excited to be joining this talented team. I was literally dancing around the kitchen when I read the email inviting me to join.

2013-01-02 PSS Keep Calm WM

When looking at craft blogs, magazines and Pinterest, you see “Keep Calm and ….” projects everywhere. The saying is so trendy and fun. Best of all it can be adapted to every occasion. When I saw my new stamps from Pumpkin Spice, I was excited to see this stamp. I thought it was the perfect sentiment now that the holidays are over and we are getting back to our normal schedules.
When making my card, I used lots of goodies from the Pumpkin Spice store - BasicGrey PB&J 6x6 paper pad, Kraft Bazzill cardstock, and Cup of Tea stamps by Darcie’s Heart & Home.   If you haven’t visited the Pumpkin Spice store, go check it out.   I was a customer before I applied for the DT because of the great pricing, fast shipping, and wonderful customer service.
Wishing you a Happy and Creative 2013!

Supplies:
  • Stamps:  Cup of Tea (rubber stamp) by Darcie’s Heart & Home from Shop Pumpkin Spice
  • Inks:  Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim
  • Papers:  Neenah Crest Solar White CS, Bazzill Basics kraft CS (from Pumpkin Spice), BasicGrey PB&J paper pad (from Pumpkin Spice)

Oh how true this sentiment is. Nothing calms me down like a hot cup of tea. (Except a cold glass of wine) I like the way you layered this and left the stamped design peeking out at the top. Eye Catching.

G'day Cheryl, your first card for the year is bursting with fun and looks stunning. I've seen the sentiment everywhere but not with the put the kettle on ending. Your stitching has pulled the pretty papers altogether wonderfully.
Thank you for sharing with us at Vickie's Challenge at Lady Anne's and good luck with the draw. I hope we see you again next challenge.

Berry the Snowman

Okay, Berry the Snowman doesn’t have the same ring as Frosty, but I think his cuteness totally makes up for it.  This is another one of the images that I colored during my crafting day with a friend before Thanksgiving.  I’m happy I had the chance to get him on a card.    Have a great week!  Thank you for stopping by!Supplies:Stamps:  Berry from Stacy Yacula Studio at Purple Onion DesignsInks:  Memento Tuxedo Black Papers:  Neenah Classic Craft Solar White CS, Papertrey kraft CS, Carta Bella Winter Fun paper pad 6x6 Tools:  Sewing machine, Big Shot, Papertrey Doily details die, Stampin’ Up corner punch, Copic markers Embellishments:  May Arts Burlap twine, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, button Challenges:Clear It Out 2W, 3E, Must use stash item - Challenge: Anything Goes Stash Item:Anything Goes (Twine, button, die cut – had it cut and sitting in a bin since last Xmas)Loves Rubber Stamps W - #82 Anything Goes ChristmasOldie But A Goodie Challenge 2W, must use something at least 6mts ol…

Pumpkin Spice - Birthday Wishes

While scrolling through the Pumpkin Spice shop, I noticed the great prices on the Christmas/Winter themed paper pads.    The fun colors and patterns on so many of the pages could be used for just about anything.   So I pulled out the “12 Days of Christmas” paper pad from My Mind’s Eye and set to work trying to make some cards.Since I never have enough birthday cards on hand, I thought that was what I would try first.  I started by punching out butterflies from several of the many patterns in the pad.    From there, I moved them around my card until I had an arrangement that I liked, added some stitching and stickers, and, “Ta Da!”, a birthday card! Since I also need a congratulations card for a friend , I thought I would see what I could make with the same paper pad.   I really love how this card turned out.(In real life, the glitter on the “U” is more similar to the aqua color in the paper.)So what do you think?   You can make some fabulous, non-holiday cards using holiday themed pap…

Catered Crop–Seeing Red

Hello!  I’m back. I’m sorry I have been gone so long.  Things have been so hectic that I haven’t had the chance to spend time in my craft room for months.  I was able to sneak away to my craft room for a while this weekend and hope to make it a regular event.I decided to use the Catered Crop’s Seeing Red recipe swap and take the opportunity to cook up some note cards to give to my mother in-law.  Although I only had time to make 4 cards, it was great to spend time in my craft room again. As always, Linda cooked up a fabulous Pinterest board to help get our creative mojo flowing.   Click on the photo below to go to her Seeing Red inspiration board.Don’t forget to link up your Seeing Red creations at the Catered Crop.Thank you for stopping by!Supplies:Stamps:  Fancy Flourishes & Little Labels from Papertrey Ink Inks:  Close To My Heart Hollyhock & Papertrey Ink Kraft inks Papers:  Papertrey white CS, My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Dolled Up 6x6 paper pad, misc. scrap red CS, Starbuc…
