Great Impressions Stamps – So Happy Together

Happy Monday!   I decided to take a break from Christmas cards this week.   I needed to step away from all the red and green for a bit.  Instead, I inked up this sweet image, Giraffes (H05), from Great Impressions Stamps. When I first looked at this step, something with a mother and child or father and child theme jumped into my head.   But this time when I looked at this stamp, I thought they look like a happy couple.  I decided to use these sweet giraffes to create an anniversary card.  (My hubby and I are coming up on our 15th wedding anniversary!)Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!Supplies:Stamps:  Giraffes (H05) from Great Impressions Stamps Inks:  Memento Rich Cocoa, Distress Inks Antique Linen & Tea Dye Papers:  Papertrey Dark Chocolate & Kraft CS, My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks 6x6 paper pad Tools:  Sewing machine, E59 copic marker (to color nail heads), Close to My Heart corner punch Embellishments:  Jenni Bowlin Malted Milk paint dabber, Adirondack…

Great Impressions–Poinsettias & Berries

Happy Monday!  I have a new Christmas card to share with you.   This week I used Poinsettias & Berries (K40) and Season’s Greetings (C427) from Great Impressions Stamps.   I have to admit that bigger stamps like this seem to intimidate me.  I always feel that the card needs to bit bigger to properly show off the image.   But, after coloring this image and messing around with bits of paper, I found a standard A2 layout that I liked. Now I want to make another card using this stamp.  I’m thinking of paper pieced layers for the poinsettia.  What do you think?Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!Supplies:Stamps:  Poinsettias & Berries (K40) and Season’s Greetings (C427) from Great Impressions Stamps Inks:  Memento Rich Cocoa & Tuxedo Black ink Papers:  Papertrey kraft CS, Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage 6x6 paper pad Tools:  Sewing machine, Copic markers, Close To My Heart corner punch, Stampin’ Up photo corners punch Embellishments:  The Twinery baker’s twine, Gelly R…

Great Impressions Stamps –Saint Nicholas

Hello!  Happy Monday!   Have you notice how quickly Christmas is creeping up?  I have seen people on Facebook that have already started the countdown.   It is going to be here before we know it.I am still trying to get a jump on my Christmas cards.   I have a new card created with Saint Nicholas (E659) from Great Impressions Stamps  to share with you today.  Since this St. Nick image seems a little vintage, I decided to give the card a vintage / distressed feel.  A bit of cardboard (from a recycled Starbucks coffee sleeve), distressed edges, and twine add a little texture.Don’t forget you still have plenty of time to join the October Great Impressions Stamps challenge – A button and a bow.   You can link your creation or see all the challenge details at the Great Impressions Stamps blog.  I have one last thing to share with you today.   This e-card seems to sum things up….Have a great day!  Thank you for stopping by!Supplies:Stamps:  Saint Nicholas (E659) from Great Impressions Stamps…

Music Saves My Soul Saturday!

Marcea has started up the Music Saves My Soul Saturday linky party again.   Yeah! To celebrate, I actually have 2 picks this week.  My DH got this song stuck in my head last week.  Now, its on every time I turn on the radio.  I’m not so fond of the end of the video, but still like the song. The second one is from Grace Potter.  I love this song.  I saw one of her shows in Milwaukee a few years ago.  She’s come a long way from the young girl in jeans and a t-shirt I saw give a kick-a$$ show.  If you would like to play along, drop by Marcea’s blog to link up your song choice for the week.Have a great weekend!

Catered Crop–Canning Jar Recipe Swap

Can you believe it is the beginning of October?  Where has the time gone?  This year is just flying by.  Talking about time flying by, it’s already time for a new recipe swap at the Catered Crop.   For this swap Linda is asking us to use canning jars in our creations.  How fun!  Canning jars are so popular in crafting right now.   Since it is the start of October, I decided to give my “canning jar” project a Halloween feel.I was happy to have the chance to pull out some new goodies that I recently bought from Papertrey Ink that were just perfect for the challenge.    Then, I realized that although I bought a couple of sets of Friendship Jar fillers and the die, I didn’t order the actual Friendship Jar stamp set.   So I had to improvise.  I used the die to cut a jar from vellum and another one from thin transparency film.  I stitched them together almost 3/4 of the way around the jar and then slipped in some googly eyes that I had stashed away.  The jar lid and stars are cut from Starb…
