Fun with Paper and Stickers at ShopPumpkinSpice

Hello!  Today is my day to post on the PumpkinSpice blog.

Last week I posted the 6x6 layout using Echo Park This & That Graceful paper pad from ShopPumpkinSpice.   When I was done, my desk was a total mess with the left over stickers, papers, doilies, etc. and I had about an hour before I had to start making dinner.    I knew if I put everything away, it would probably be a while before I dug out these gorgeous papers and stickers and put them to use again.   So I challenged myself to make as many cards as I could, primarily using the materials on my desk, before I had to start cooking.    This is what I came up with.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 4 WM

Card #1 uses one of the sentiment stamps from Love You Mulberry Wood collection available at ShopPumpkinSpice.     I used a handy tip that I picked up somewhere.  If you have a sticker that you want to make un-sticky, dust the back with cornstarch.  (Be sure to tap off the extra and even brush it off with an old brush.  Anything else the cornstarch gets on will also become no longer sticky.)   I did that on the blue flower so that I could pop it up on dimensionals.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 2 wm

On card #2, I trimmed down the flourish/stem sticker so that it would fit my card.  Again I used the corn starch trick and popped up the flower.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 1 WM

I love this hot balloon sticker, especially with the sentiment.

2013-01-30 PSS Card 3 WM

This one is my favorite.   I love this sentiment sticker because I used to sing this song to my daughter when she was small (and she still liked my singing).  I matted the sticker with a piece of scrap black card stock.

I made all four of these cards in about an hour with the bits and pieces on my desk.   It really showed me how versatile stickers can be and how quickly you can make some cards.    I think I usually consider stickers as something to use primarily in scrapbooking.    ShopPumpkinSpice has a large variety of stickers you can use in your crafting available HERE.    Pair them up with some matching papers and you are ready to go to make a stack of cards.   (Note that after these 4 cards and my 6x6 scrapbook page, I still have plenty of paper and stickers to play with.)

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Tea for Two

Our new challenge at ShopPumpkinSpice is “Coffee/Cocoa/Tea”.   I decided to make a 6x6 scrapbook page of my daughter, Liz, and I having high tea when we were on vacation.

2013-01-22 PSS Tea Time Layout WM

My daughter was so cute!  All morning she was very excited about “going to tea.”  Then, when we were getting ready, she asked me “What do people do at tea?”   I explained to her that you drink tea, have little sandwiches and sweets and talk.   When get were seated in the tea room, I swear her bottom barely touched the cushions before she said “So, Mom, what do you want to talk about?”    We ended up having a really nice time together and she still talks about what kind of tea she is going to try when we go back.

I included a little pull out with some information on that day.  I’m terrible at journaling on my scrapbook pages.  I decided that I wasn’t going to stress about journaling.  If I have to journal, I would never get any scrapbook pages done.

2013-01-22 PSS Tea Time Layout 2 WM

I know it is a little hard to read, but the stamp in the corner reads “You & Me the perfect blend”, which I thought was perfect for the day.

Don’t forget to link up your “Coffee/Cocoa/Tea” creation HERE for the third ShopPumpkinSpice challenge.    You can also see the challenge details there.

Great Impressions Stamps - Hi!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made using Help From Your Friends (G78) from Great Impressions Stamps.  Aren’t these critters cute?

2013-01-21 GI Friends WM

I decided to use some nice, warm colors  and move away from using red.  With Christmas and Valentine’s Day, I feel like I have been using red on almost every project lately.

I couldn’t quite get the colors correct in the photo.  The mat, “Hi” and ribbon are all a warm grey that coordinates with the DP.    They look slightly olive on my screen.    I didn’t have quite the right color ribbon, so I colored it with my Copic markers so that it coordinated better.

Please “Like” Great Impressions Stamps on Facebook HERE so you don’t miss out on any announcements or give-aways.    Great Impressions Stamps is also now on Pinterest.   Click HERE to follow.
