Great Impression Stamps–Party Ducks

It’s Monday so that means it’s my day to post on the Great Impressions Stamps blog.     Actually, today is my last post on the blog.  Don’t worry, I’m not leaving the team!  I will still be a part of the Great Impressions Stamps design team but my projects will be posted on the Great Impressions Stamps Facebook page.   You will also still be able to see my projects on my blog too.  Be sure to like the Great Impressions Stamps Facebook page so you don’t miss out on anything.

Today I have a birthday card using Party Ducks (G458) and Sweet Sentiments (E791) from Great Impressions Stamps.   These ducks certainly look like they are having a good time.  Aren’t they cute?

Pumpkin Spice–You are my favorite

Oh my gosh!  I’m late!  This has been a bit of a crazy week and I lost track of the days.   I hope you don’t mind if I keep the post short and to the point.

Once again I was playing around with some fun papers and chipboard from Pumpkin Spice.  I so love making cards like this now.  With a few extra added accents you have a fabulous card that is pretty fast to make.

These beautiful papers and chipboard pieces are from the For the Record 2 – Documented collection from Echo Park.  I just love these colors.   For my card, I layered a couple of chipboard pieces to give it a bit of extra dimension.   To add a little something extra, I used liquid pearls to accent the center of the flower.

Check out the 6x6 paper pads and coordinating chipboard and embellishments at Pumpkin Spice for great prices and fabulous customer service.

Great Impressions Stamps - Happy Birthday using Lace Doily

When I first started on the Great Impressions Stamps DT I warned you that I love the Lace Doily (J101) stamp and had a bunch of ideas on how to use it.    I shared a couple ideas with you but then I put it away so that I could give some of  my other new Great Impressions Stamps some attention.     Well, this week I am back to using the Lace Doily stamp.

2013-04-23 GI Doily bday 1 WM

I stamped the doily four times using different colored inks.   Then I used square Nesties to cut out a portion of each doily and attached them to a panel.   I LOVE how this looks!

This would look great in other combinations and could be used for any occasion.  I’m thinking about reds and greens.  Add a Christmas sentiment and you would have a beautiful card.

I think this is still my favorite Great Impressions stamp.  There are just so many beautiful ways you can use it.    If you would like to see some of my other projects using it, you can click HERE or HERE.  I’m going to put it away for awhile, but I know I will be pulling it out again soon.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Catered Crop - Glitter Recipe Challenge

On my way home from work last night, I was thinking about my blog post and all the fun, witty things I had to say, especially about glitter.    I got home, made dinner, cleaned up, took care of my daughter, dog and parrot, threw in a load of laundry and FINALLY sat down to type up my post.    And guess what?   I can’t think of a single fun or witty thing to say.  So, I guess I’ll just get down to business.

The current recipe swap at the Catered Crop is all about glitter.   Show us your beautiful, sparkly creations.  For my project, I covered Thickers alphabet stickers with red glitter.    I kept my card design pretty simple so that the glittery letters could really shine. (Pun intended!)

2013-04-18 CC Glitter wm

Linda put together this beautiful board on Pinterest to give us all some glittery inspiration.  We would love to see your glitter project.  You can link up your glitter project and see the recipe details at the Catered Crop.

Do you love glitter? I know some of my crafting friends love it. Or should I say, LOVE it. Personally, I love it on other people’s projects, but hate using it myself. After one little project, I always have a huge mess. And I keep finding glitter everywhere for days. And days. And days. In fact, I see some red glitter twinkling in my key board right now. So, what are your thoughts on glitter? Love it? Hate it? Any tips for working with it?

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a fabulous day!

Supplies:

  • Papers:   Papertrey white CS, My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found 3 – Ruby paper pad
  • Tools: Fiskar’s edge punch
  • Embellishments:  Misc. glitter, American Crafts DIY Thickers Poolside,  Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text, Provo Craft Alphabitties, Kaiser gemstones

Great Impressions Stamps–In the Dog House

Happy Monday!  Today is my day to post at the Great Impressions Stamps blog.

There is something about this little pup in his dog house that makes me smile.   I have had him for a while and I don’t know why I haven’t inked him up before now.   Well, I guess now is as good as a time as any.

2013-04-15 GI Dog Hello WM

I really love all the fun Polaroid frames that are out right now.   I have to admit, I am too cheap to buy one so I decided to experiment with creating my own Polaroid frame with supplies that I had on hand.  This one was created by using a square die and a rectangle die (both from Spellbinders).   If you don’t have the dies, I’m sure you could mark it off on the back side of the paper and cut it out using your paper trimmer.

Don’t forget you have time to join in the April challenge at the Great Impressions Stamps blog.  Our challenge is all about polka dots and/or pastel colors.  You can find the details on the post HERE

I hope you have a fabulous week!  Thank you for stopping by!

The challenge at the Pumpkin Spice blog this week is EGGS!  Have fun, be creative, and incorporate eggs into your crafting project.

For my project, I altered a plastic container to hold chocolate Easter eggs.

I used some pretty papers from the Fancy Pants Time for Spring 6x6 paper pad along with some recycled items.  (The plastic container, a chipboard coaster, and the corrugated papers are all recycled)    The little banner was cut out of the DP.    If you love these papers, you can get them from the Pumpkin Spice Shop for only $4.20.

Whimsy & Stars Studio

I have a sad post to share with you today.  I decided to step down from the Whimsy & Stars Studio design team.   I have really enjoyed my time working with Mabelle and the team.    With my family responsibilities along with my new job, I find I have less and less time to craft.

I wanted to share some of my favorite projects created using Whimsy and Stars Studio images.   (If all works as planned, you should be able to view them as a slide show.)

I love working with all of Mabelle’s sweet images.   I know I will be stalking her blog and loving all of her new images.

Twine Love Recipe Swap at the Catered Crop

I’m so excited about the current Catered Crop recipe swap.  It’s TWINE!  You know how I love twine.

I was tossing around ideas in my head for my card when I found out that I needed a card for a baby shower.    That cinched it.  I immediately knew what I wanted to do.     Rarely does a card end up so similar to the idea that I had.  Yeah!

2013-04-03 CC Baby card WM

I had a spare piece of white CS that I covered with Scor-tape and then wrapped with twine.   I adhered it to the back of the main panel with the letters die cut out.  The entire piece is mounted to the card base using dimensional dots (Zots).    Of course I threw in some extra texture using my favorite embossing folders and adding stars cut from some spare Starbucks coffee sleeves.

Here is some additional twine love inspiration that Linda put together for you.   Click on the photo to go directly to the Catered Crop Twine Love inspiration board on Pinterest.

I hope that this has inspired you to join the Twine Love recipe swap at the Catered Crop.  Stop by the Catered Crop blog to link up your project.
