Simple Washi

Hello!  Today I wanted to share the last set of notecards that I made for the silent auction, fundraiser at my daughter’s school.   I tried to keep them CAS and I wanted to use some of my washi tape stash.

Some Of My Favorites

It was a crazy, busy week and I didn’t have the time to make a new project to share with you.    So that you don’t miss me too much (LOL),  I thought I would share some of my favorite autumn/Halloween themed projects that I have created in the past using Whimsy and Stars Studio images.  (There are 9 total in the slide show.)

All of these images are available in the Whimsy and Stars Studio shop.

I hope to some new projects to share with you next week.

Scrappy Note Cards

Hello!  I was going to post these cards on Thursday but I lost track of time this week.  It has been a bit of a crazy week.  I lost my job of 15 years on Tuesday and I have been busy doing paper work and tying up loose ends.   Although I definitely am not happy that I was laid off, I think this might be the kick in the rear that I need to re-examine my goals and give something new a try.   Maybe I’ll even be able to find something in the crafting world.

Anyhow, this is another set of notecards that I made for the fundraiser at my daughter’s school.    I wanted to use up some designer paper scraps that I have been saving.  I like this collection too much to throw out the last few pieces that I had left.  I think I will be turning to this design again in the future to use up some scraps.

I don’t want to post pictures of each individual card since they are basically the same.  Instead, here is a look at the set of 6 note cards.

Happy Fall

Even though it still seems like summer, I dug out my autumn/harvest type decorations over the weekend.  I love the colors of autumn.  My family thinks I’m a little nuts because having a clean house and putting out my autumn decorations makes me happy.

While I was in the “autumn” mood, I decided to make another autumn themed project using “Blessed Harvest” from Whimsy and Stars Studio.  I wanted to make a coordinating wine bottle tag and a card.   I hope they are not too matchy-matchy.

Leaf Note Cards

Hello!  I just have a quick project share with you today.  I have been trying to make some notecards to donate to my daughter’s school for their annual fund raiser.   This is the first of 3 sets that I have completed.

Here is a look at one of the cards in the set.  I didn’t include photos of each card because they are all pretty similar.

Here is a look at the entire set.   The photo is a little warm.  The coloring in the photo above is more accurate.  Each is lined with Papertrey Rustic Cream cardstock.

So what do you think?  Do you think asking for a minimum bid of $5 for 6 notecards and envelopes is too high?  I’m not sure what to put on them.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!

It’s Fall

The weather over the weekend was cooler and really put me in the mood for autumn.   On Sunday, I baked some Oatmeal Pumpkin Chocolate Chip mini-muffins.  Not only did they taste really yummy but they left my house smelling wonderful.   I also had to break out my recipe for Autumn Pork Chops.  Yum, yum, yum!  I just love this time of year.

I’m not just going to tempt you with my favorite autumn recipes, I also have a card to share with you.  This is a new image from Whimsy & Stars Studio and it perfect for the season.  I LOVE this image.  I also broke out some new autumn-themed papers.

Although it is a bit hard to tell in the photo, the center part of both pumpkins is layered and popped up to add some dimension.

Have a fabulous week!  Thank you for stopping by!

When I think of autumn birds, for some reason crows always come to my mind.   I wish all the crows around my house were as cute as this little bird!   (Did you know a group of crows is called a “murder””?  No wonder they have such a sinister reputation.)

You may be wondering about the other image “It’s Fall”.  Don’t worry, if you love that image as much as I do, it will be available in the Whimsy and Stars Studio store later today.

Thank you for stopping by!  Don’t forget to stop by the Whimsy & Stars Studio blog to download Sunflower Bird before Saturday.

School Daze

Happy Tuesday!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  We really enjoyed having an extra day off this week for Labor Day.

Today is my daughter’s first day of school.  I can’t believe she is in 5th grade!  It seems like yesterday when I was sending her off to Kindergarten.   In the spirit of sending her off to her first day of middle school, I made this card for her using Bitty Love from Paper and Such.

2012-09-04 PSS Apple WM

Once again I was trying to do a bit more of a CAS card than my usual style.  I had to go back and layer the apples to give it a bit of dimension because I just couldn’t leave it as it.   I have to admit I originally envisioned a single layer card but that was just too much outside my comfort zone.  I love when other people make single layer cards but I just can’t do it myself.

Julie made a big announcement on the Paper and Such blog last night.   She has made the difficult decision to close the store.  Of course she is going to have a big sale!  Right now, you can get 30% off everything in stock.
