Blog Candy Winner and Other Stuff

First, and probably most importantly, I have to announce the lucky winner of the gift certificate to the Whimsy & Stars Studio shop.   (Thank you Mabelle for sponsoring my stop on the Polkadot Door blog hop!)   Thank you to every one who stopped by my blog and signed up to win.

Drumroll please…..

The random winner is #6 -  Calypso.

Calypso said that Balloon Baby is her favorite image from the store.     He is a cutie!

Congratulations Calypso!   Email me at shestamps11-blogs(at)yahoo(dot)com to find out how to collect your $6 GC to the Whimsy & Stars Studio shop.    Happy shopping!

I also have a song to share for Music Saves My Soul.  If you would like to play along, link up your blog post to Marcea’s blog.

I had a upsetting episode with my dog, Summer, on Friday.   Very suddenly, she started falling down,  walked almost like she was drunk, and was panting and drooling heavily.   Since she’s almost 14 years old, I freaked out and thought she had a stroke or something.   I called the vet and brought her right in.    After about 2 hours and several tests they diagnosed her with idiopathic peripheral vestibular disease.   In a nut shell, my poor dog has a horrible case of vertigo that may last a couple days or several weeks.  All we can do it try to make her comfortable, give her some anti-nausea meds and hope that it passes quickly.

Here is a picture of Summer from a couple of months ago.    Doesn’t she look happy wearing her sombrero?  (Not!)  I like to call this her Desperado look.     (You might recognize this hat from here.)  Let’s hope she is feeling better soon.

That’s it for this week.   I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Happy Mother’s Day!

Hey, Cheryl, I can commiserate with you dog. I am a human sufferer of "Meniere's Disease" and boy it is no fun. My DR. sent me to Vestibular Therapy, where they attempt to train you to train your brain not to listen to your inner ear..."doesn't work". My hubby says I am as dizzy now as I ever was. I not so sure that man is talking about my disease (LOL)! It must be horrible for an animal. I have fallen so many time it is not funny.

Hope you pooch's attacks don't last long!

Oh, and thanks for leaving such a nice comment on my blog.

Cheryl-
I am so sorry to hear about Summer, Hopefully the symptoms only last a few days. I know how hard it is to watch your family pet linger with discomfort. It's hard to see them not be themselves. I know she is going to milk you for all the doggie treats in the house tough!! LOL

Thank you for selecting me as the Random winner for images from Mabelle...I am super excited.

Hugs to you and Summer.

Calypso

Sorry to hear about Summer, hope she'll feel better soon. Right now our youngest cat is complaining he wants to go out, but he cannot, because we need to take him to the vet in a couple of hours to have him neutered. There's already too many cats around here, which is probably why we have 6 of them now. Five of these have adopted us and no. 2 was a present from cat no. 1 who got herself pregnant LOL. We've tried to remove the "Cat hotel" sign from our front garden, but we were unable to locate it LOL.
