Meljen’s Designs–Recipe Challenge

These week we are challenging you to join in our RECIPE CHALLENGE. The recipe is ONE bow, THREE brads and a CIRCLE.

Melissa finally took a much deserved vacation so we don’t have any new images for you. Each of the DT is using a past Meljen’s image to create projects following the challenge.

Since it has been SO HOT, I decided to use this sweet little penguin image to try to cool things down. I was traveling for my job the last few days and the air conditioning at the hotel I was at could not keep up with the high temperatures. Ugh! (Although on a good note, when I went out to dinner with my boss, I was carded! Yippee! This is pretty exciting when you are over 40. Seriously, I do not look any where near 21 but it still felt pretty good!) So any how, back to the business at hand… Here is my card using Penguin’s Cocoa.

The paper is from a sample pack that I received at CHA last year. Since I couldn’t remember why I was saving it, I decided to use it. Clean out that stash! I also used sketch SSSC125 from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for inspiration.

I hope you will join our RECIPE CHALLENGE. You find more inspiration pieces from the DT at the Meljen’s Designs blog. You can purchase Meljen’s Designs digital and rubber stamps at Whimsy Stamps.

While you are here, don’t forget to check out my blog candy!

Thank you for stopping by! If you are in the areas with the record heat, take care of yourself and stay cool!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Penguin’s Cocoa by Meljen’s Designs on Whimsy Stamps
  • Inks: None
  • Papers: Georgia Pacific CS, PaperStudio red CS, Neenah Crest CS, Upsy Daisy Avalanche DP
  • Tools: Sewing machine, Big Shot, Spellbinders Nestabilities, EK Success snowflake punch, Copic markers
  • Embellishments: PaperTrey button twine, Crystal Stickles, misc button and brads

Good for you gettin' carded!! Yahoo!!!! :)

Seems like everyone's doing the 'winter' theme cards in order to get cooler from this HEAT!!!

I'm so glad to see your blog giveway has so many entries. I haven't joined b/c I don't use copics and I don't want to take a spot away from a potential winner!!!

Enjoy the night and stay cool :)

What an adorable card! Hi, Cheryl! I just discovered your blog and have been poking around, looking at all of your awesome projects. I am loving seeing all of the Christmas in July stuff everybody is posting as it provides a little false relief from this horrible heat wave we've been having. I'm ready to move to Alaska! I entered your giveaway and posted the pic and link in my right sidebar per your instructions. I love using Copics and the ones you're giving away are colors I don't have. I'd love it if you stop by my blog sometime too. I'll be having a giveaway sometime next month.

Happy crafting!

Lucky for him, that cute little penguin isn't living near you or he'd be drinking iced coffee instead of hot cocoa lol. Great use of non traditional colors for a Christmas card. Thanks for joining us at Digistamps4Joy Christmas in July challenge ~ Charlene DS4J DT
