I'm dreaming of Cupcakes.... and being on time

As a card maker, I should always have a card ready and mail it out in a timely fashion. You would think... Anyhow, the truth of the matter is, even though I am a Type A personality and hate to be late for anything, somehow I am almost always late getting cards into the mail. I don't know why. That's just the way it is. May be I'll add this to my New Year's resolution list next year... Lose 20 pounds, exercise more, drink more water, and mail cards on time....

So today is my friend, Joy's, birthday. Believe it or not, I actually got her birthday card to her on time. Early in fact... Some how I had her birthday on the wrong date on my calendar. Two weeks early.... On her "birthday" or so I thought, I popped on Facebook and left her a cheery little birthday message. Needless to say, confusion ensued. On the good side, I gave us all a laugh, we decided to celebrate her birthday month instead of day, and I got my card to her on time.

Here is a look at her card. This is my first effort at a collage type card. I was inspired by the card Amy Sheffer posted here. The photo really doesn't do it justice. Don't cards almost always look better IRL?

Thank you for stopping by and reading all my babble today. Happy Birthday Joy!

I love the cupcake coming outta the square! And that heart - so neat!!!

How funny about messing up the dates - but - I'm sure she appreciated your card whether it was on time, early or late :)
Have a great night!

Great card! Love the collage type feel and the tag. What a fun image of the cupcake. I am so glad I am not the only one who is late getting cards out and then, shhh, I sometimes need to buy one....:(

Adorable. Really like the collage style. Too funny that it was on time by accident (it still counts, though). I'm always late with cards, too, and I feel bad since I make them, lol! Bet your friend loved this!

Hi Cheryl,
Stunning love all the layers, texture and the cupcake is sweet...Seems we are the same hate being late but a phobia for the mail box,I'm always at least a day late with cards, not as bad as a friend of mine who for years has given me my birthday card and pressie 6 days late as she thought it was my birthday,it was infact another friends so we have just swapped it means she gets her's early and I get another card and pressie, works for us...lol...

I absolutely love this card. I've been trying to incorporate collage into more of my layouts, but never thought to do it on a card. Very cute.

What an absolutely wonderful birthday card!! I really like the collage effect and how feminine it is too. As for card makers getting cards out on time, I don't find that works for me either LOL!
